Does Anyone Care?

She woke up after I did. I was already fully awake, my body craving some coffee.

I wonder if there's a Starbucks around here?

She sat up, rubbed her eyes, and looked at me. "Good morning," I said in the most cheery voice I could muster.

She didn't say anything, only made a small huffing sound.

"We should get our stuff packed soon," I stated. "I want to get to our destination as soon as possible."

"Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise."

She laid her head back down and closed her eyes. "I'm not really liking this whole 'I'm not telling you where we're going' deal that much."

"What's your deal," I asked her with a small laugh.  She bolted right up and looked at me.

"My deal? My deal? You're asking me what my deal is? What about what you did when we got to the room yesterday, huh? What about that?"

"Look, I'm sorry about that. I just needed you to come with me. Fear is the greatest motivator, after all."

She looked at me. "Why?"

"It's a secret."

She groaned and laid back down. "Is there anything you can tell me?"

"You look cute when you sleep."

She looked at me, a small smile growing across her face. "Stop looking at me," she exclaimed, pulling the covers above her face. I pulled the covers away from her face and she started laughing. I moved a piece of her black hair away from her eyes as I looked at her. She had icy blue eyes that would make anyone jealous, her hair was long and wavy, and she had few freckles planted strategically across her cheeks.

She was beautiful.

"What?"

"Nothing."

She sat up and ruffled up her hair. She got out of bed and grabbed her bag. "I'm going to get changed. I'll be out in five."

"Okay," I answered.

She left for the bathroom and locked the door. I smiled a little at that.

I decided to get changed myself. I pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans.

"They are not skinny jeans," Frank would say. "You know it."

I put on some black and red plaid boxers, the jeans, and threw on a white undershirt. It wasn't a tanktop, it had sleeves. I put on my black leather jacket after to jazz up the outfit. I ruffled up my black hair some and decided I was good.

She came out of the bathroom after I finished packing my stuff.

"Ready," I asked.

She nodded. She followed me out the door and into the lobby. We checked out and walked out of the hotel.

"Do you remember where we parked?" she asked. I shook my head, implying that I didn't know. I grabbed her left hand and looked at her. She was hesitant, but slowly intertwined our fingers. She looked up at me and smiled a bit.

I looked out at the parking lot and squinted my eyes to keep from being blinded. "I think I see it," I told her. I pointed off to my right with my free hand.

We started walking in that direction. It was our- well Frank's- car. I took the keys out and unlocked the doors we put our stuff in the back seat and went up front. I was driving and Hazel was next to me. I looked at her and started the car. She caught me staring and looked back.
