The Doctor heard the photocopier and realised that Lily was no longer standing next to him. He kept quiet, knowing she could be their only chance at escape. The Zygon did not seem aware that he had lost a prisoner, but hearing the noise suspected there to be someone in the house. He marched into the study and listened intently.
He couldn't hear any noise, except the whirring and spluttering of the printer in the corner. Being a Zygon, he had never come across human technology before now and presumed that noise meant life. ""Creature! I demand that you surrender to the Zygons, and give us the blueprints, NOW!" Lily could hear the commotion, and was worried that the Zygon's anger would get out of hand, but could only listen and hope for the best, whilst putting her plan into action.
Back in the living room, The Doctor was looking for a weapon, just in case whatever Lily was doing didn't work. He scanned the room hopefully – and spotted a large wooden block with a cylindrical handle. It was an old-fashioned cricket bat, made of a lightly coloured wood and with a striped green handle. The Doctor remembered something a friend had once told him... Ace's face flashed clearly into his mind, and he knew that despite it being a completely different monster and a slightly different type of bat, her technique was as good as any...
He grabbed the bat and began to creep towards the study. Lily could see him coming, but if he attacked it would ruin her entire plan! She poked her head out from the side of the chair and shook it at him desperately.
The Doctor continued to creep forwards, oblivious to Lily's annoyance. She dived out from her hiding place, grabbing the Doctor around his ankles. "Oh, hello there," The Doctor said cheerily. "I thought you might need a hand." he said, gesturing towards the cricket bat. Lily laughed with relief. "Nope, I've got it all under control" They both seemed to have forgotten that the Zygon was standing next to them, momentarily stunned with confusion. This didn't last long, however, and they were snapped back into reality by a ferocious roar. "Oops," Lily said."Maybe I should have stayed hidden." The Doctor grinned and whispered in her ear "Do whatever you were planning, I've got your back". Lily nodded and gulped nervously. "Mr. Zygon, sir, I've got the blueprint for you" This caused the Zygon to run towards her angrily. "Give me the blueprint!" It yelled. The Doctor was stunned, disheartened and worried. Why was Lily giving up?
