I had willingly accepted to fight for this kingdom I called mine now. There were three more, according to Nick. He promised he would take me there once I finished my training. The training he was talking about was my magic's.
We were still on that bridge, standing in the middle of it. The sun was already on its way setting. But there were still some rays of light falling on Nick's face, making his Angel like skin shine brighter. His eyes wrinkled as the sunlight reached it and a silly smile formed on my face seeing something humanly in him. It was almost a pretty sight.
"Focus, young Lady." He strictly bawled, gaining all my attention.
"The first and the easiest spell you're gonna learn is of flying. It uses the least of your magical powers, making it easy for even a new born Angel. So baby angel, let's try that.""Okay, I'm gonna fly." I said, my eyebrows raised, upholding.
"I'm gonna fly?" I whispered to myself after Nick looked away from me."Now repeat after me," he commanded. "Et volant in me."
"Et volant in me." I repeated after him as he told me to do.
My eyes noticed his body flutter up in the sky, floating in it like a feather. And yet here I was at the same place with my mouth hung open.
"What are you doing? Come on, come up!" He called me.
"It's not happening. I didn't even move an inch." I shouted back.
Sighing, he smoothly landed.
"Aileen, you don't just have to chant the words but also assemble the power inside of you. You've to feel your magic and use it in your thoughts. Do you understand?" He asked me.
"No, how do I assemble it if I don't feel any power?" I questioned him back, freaking out.
"You'll only be able to feel it if you believe it's there...inside you." He touched my fingers with his' softly, making it tickle.
I nodded, feeling a bit confident.
"Say again, Et volant in me." I heard him and closed my eyes, inhaling a large amount of air and exhaling it a second later. I motivated myself to believe for a second that I could do this. I have magic inside of me. I just have to aggregate it.
"Et volant in me." I chanted.
Surely, a moment later I felt a great deal of energy in me. I took a long deep breath and again focused on flying. I thought of aviating my legs up in the sky, floating in it like Nick did.
When I flicked open my eyes, I was three inches above the ground, feeling no difficulty staying up in the air.
I heard a chuckle.
"That's it?" Nick's teasing voice questioned.
"Oh, come on! It's my first time. I can't be a meter high in the air, all right? At least it's a good start." I muttered in anger, focusing all my energy on collecting the rage. And just like that, I fell down on the ground.
"Whoa! What the hell was that? A minute of distraction and I'm sprawled on the floor?" I stood up and asked Nick angrily, brushing the dust off my pants.
"What, you thought magic was easy?" He taunted. "And by the way, this was a very weak start. I flew a meter and a half high on my first try." Shrugging, he showed off like a jerk.
"Jerk!" I cursed.
"Heard ya!" He laughed.
"Okay, now I would like to concentrate and practice on my own." I gritted my teeth in irritation and glared at him.
