"Where the hell is your focus, Aviana? I just taught you. Push, straddle and pin!" Raymond yelled at me. "How hard that is to learn? You were doing good from two days! What's wrong today?"
"Sorry," I said, yawning again. "I didn't sleep well yesterday."
"Then jump, run, jog. Do anything to be fully awake." His loud voice shrilled in my ears, making my head pain even more. But he looked so cute.
I couldn't sleep at all yesterday night, reason being my cousin who was teaching me magic spells all night. I found out that I was a fast learner at swordfighting and self defense but a damn slow one at learning magic. But Arnold was patient with me. He behaved like a real big brother with me. I never got that feeling before and it was so peaceful. I felt safe all the time, like there was someone willing to put me before everything. He wanted me to escape this place on my own and then use a spell to keep me and uncle hidden from the angels. I believed it was simple to do. But when I saw the ingredients it took to channel the energy for the spell, my confidence fell. It will take me a few days more to completely master in the spells and escape this place. Till then, I was told to behave as normally as I could.
"Good job!" Raymond grinned and appreciated me as I defended myself from his punch and twisted his arm.
"-But can you defend yourself from this?"He caught me off guard as he twisted my arm instead and pinned me to the ground, but I acted instantly and rolled myself away, straddling him. I held both his arms and twisted them behind his back, covering his legs with mine. He was kept frozen at his place as a goofy grin formed on my face.
"I did it!" I laughed, leaning down towards him in joy.
"Yeah, well say this when you pin down your enemy," he rolled his eyes and said sarcastically.
"Right," I muttered inside my breath, my eyes still on him.
After a while of his heavy breathing, his eyes set on me too. We stayed still, the heat of the freshly risen sun radiating upon us. It was the perfect moment to kiss, but I was stupid and immature and he was my teacher. And I didn't belong here and he didn't belong with me.
I got off him, rolling away and laying on my back. The mixture of the cool breeze and the warm sun rays was so serene, I never wanted to get up.
But then he spoke, "we should get going.""Mhmmm..." I mumbled, sitting up.
We both walked back to the cottage, silence between us getting thicker. I scolded myself for even getting so weak to stare in his eyes for that long. As we reached the pavement of the cottage, we found Nick and Leonie standing right there.
"Hey, what are you guys doing here?" I asked them.
"Leonie wanted to go shopping with you. There's a fair festival going on uptown and Tiara is busy. I also have some work over there. So, you're coming with us now." Nick said, like always seriously.
"Oh, okay. Just let me head home and change. I'm all sweaty." I uttered, hesitating at going with Leonie. I don't even know the girl.
"Oh no, we're gonna be late. I'll change you," Leonie stepped forward and did some voodoo with her hands. In a second, I was wearing something else.
I looked down at myself, finding myself in another leather pants and top that revealed my cleavage too much for my liking. My cheeks quickly reddened, realizing that Raymond could see it.
"Uh...can you," I paused. "Change my top?" Then whispered to her.
She gave out a hearty laughter and shook her head. "No, you're coming like this."
Then she grabbed my arm and pulled me. I walked behind her when my other arm was pulled the other side. I whipped my head at the person holding my arm. It was Raymond.
