A big rock glided at me from the left and I pushed my body back in the air as a reflex. Georgie giggled at it. I shook my head at her, a little smirk on my face as I defended myself. Another rock came from the front and I flew upwards, saving myself.
"Woah! That was close!" I laughed.
"So, I see. But you're getting pretty good at the saving yourself part." She weirdly nodded her head several times like she has been doing since the past hour and exclaimed. I inwardly giggled at that strange habit of hers.
"So, now am I gonna learn to do real stuff?" I kept hands on my hips, asking.
"Yeah, you are. Let's start with the easy — making the objects fly."
"Wait...ain't I supposed to tame the air...like tornadoes and stuff?" I raised my eyebrows at her, questioning.
"Of course, you are. I said easy, not all."
She came closer to me as she said that. I shrugged and listened to her in obedience.
"When you've to make the thing fly upwards, concentrate on it and chant — sursum."
I pouted, subconsciously and kept listening to her.
"When making them fly downwards, chant — volabunt."
"When rightwards—"
"Woah, Woah! Easy, lady! I'm bad at memorizing these spells." I held her wrists and stopped her. She made a disappointed face and then gave a bright smile, wiggling her head weirdly again.
Then she flew opposite from me and stopped a few yards away, crossing her hands and giving me a nod to start.
Georgie was the expert who was sent to train me for taming the element "air". As much as Alcina was fascinating and graceful, Georgie was weird, short and cute. She made two pigtails with her black hair, making her wide forehead look even wider. Her faded dress seemed too old to wear. But the bright smile that girl carried with her made me like her.
I shook my head at her again and closed my eyes, taking a deep breath and then, exhaling. Next, I opened my eyelids and stared continuously at a medium sized brick on the ground. I began to feel strong energy surround me as I chanted "sursum."
The brick flew upwards and went even higher than me. But unfortunately, it fell on the ground again. I pouted like a small child, looking at Georgie for guidance.
"Mmm...that's odd. Alcina thought you'd be an "air" tamer." Georgie's hands crossed as she thought it through and mumbled.
Honestly, I think Alcina was wrong. But I kept my mouth shut.
"Anyway, let's move forward. I'll be here..." She flew rightwards at a tree and sat on its branch. "You keep practicing."
I frowned and sighed in annoyance of these practice sessions, gathering back my concentration.

"Any luck in the element part?" Leonie asked me as we walked back on the rocky path to Nick's cottage.
I strongly shook my head, my face got irritated and she got the idea. Giggling, she put an arm around my shoulder.
"You'll get there. It takes time. Though I did it in my fourth year to school...but still, it does."
I glared at her when she told me that.
"I'm half human. So, maybe it's that." I defended myself.
