It was funny how time flies, situations occur and positions switch. I was entering the Palace again, this time with handcuffs in my hands. My frown couldn't get deeper.
They found Arnold because of me! God knows what they'll do to him! What if they kill him for trying to help me escape from here? I couldn't let that happen. This was all happening because of my stupid and rash decision. I kept walking with guards at my sides and Adrian in front of me. Rolling my eyes at his typical walking style I looked downwards on the floor. The wine and white colored floor patterns kept me occupied until we reached the elevator. I got ready to get ported into some cloud world I went to before. At that moment, I wished to wake up from a fantasy dream. I wished to wake up in the bed of my home in Atlantic city that got burned. I wished to hear the screeching voice of my mother to wake me up from my dream. I just wished.

You have a motto. You're here to do something. Do not get distracted from it.

"Shut up!" I groaned and muttered inside my breath to the Lady in my head.

When will this bitch stop talking?

"This way, princess." A guard led me towards the right as the elevator opened. This was a different place. I didn't recognize it.

"Don't call me that!" I snapped.

He guiltily stared down and kept strolling before me. I regretted snapping at him immediately.

This place was a great hall too, just a lot bigger than the one I have seen. There were small eight thrones at each side, each of them representing a different archangel. Ministers were seated on them. The biggest throne was at the end and in the middle of the great hall with the King seated on it. His expressions seemed worried and tired. I didn't understand. I thought he must be angry. As I was taken towards the King, the ministers seated on the side kept glaring at me.
I guessed it. It was a courtroom. So was I going to get a prison sentence?

I was stopped right before the three steps that led to the King's throne. I stood there, my head held high, my eyes staring directly into the King's eyes.

"So I hear you tried to escape from here, Princess Aviana." The King started, his wicked and cold voice sending chills down my bones. I was afraid for my cousin. He was innocent.
"How'd you manage to do that much on your own without knowing even the basics of magic?"

His question was thrown onto me. I kept quiet, my gaze coming down.

"ANSWER ME!"

He grunted, so loudly I almost jumped in my place. I glanced back at him finding his eyes sparkling golden. It was magical and thrilling. When I focused on what was it, I literally saw fire burning inside his eye balls. He was outrageous.

"Father, if I may speak!" Adrian stepped forward.

"Yes, you may, Adrian." He straightened his posture and calmly exclaimed.

"She had someone helping her. We caught him using the Crenairia binding spell to help her escape in the town's outskirts." Adrian spoke and I swear the more he said, the more I started hating him.

"Who is it?" The King dangerously whispered and leaned forward in his chair. That's when I realized how big he was!

"Arnold Laude — he's the son of the elderly Angel of the quarter across the bridge." Adrian uttered and we heard footsteps approaching from behind.

I tilted my body to see who's there. It was Arnold, handcuffed and surrounded by guards. Tears welled up in my eyes seeing him like that. He gave me a reassuring nod, telling me he's okay. Then he stopped right next to me and the guards went and stood on the side. Our shoulders were touching and I found it comforting. We both were okay.
