Settle Down, Mate

Logan's Pov **

Ugh, we've been on this plane for almost 10 hours now, and at this point I'm just trying to get this council meeting over with so we can head home.

Just then the Pilot began speaking on the overhead and cut me off of my thoughts. "Passengers, please remain seated as we begin to land the plane. Please do not remove your seat belts until your flight attendant has told you to do so."

I looked to my side and watched Izzy as she woke up, yawning. "Are we landing? It's about time ugh I thought we'd be on that flight forever."

I chuckled. "What are you complaining about you slept the entire time"

"I slept because if I would've stayed awake like you, I would be cranky. You should see your face, there's 'I'm a cranky man' written all over it" she joked.

"Haha, very funny. C'mon, lets grab our stuff and head out, there should be a car out front waiting for us, it was sent by the council."

Izzy had a somewhat surprised look on her face, "Oh the council is really fancy sending cars out for us"

"They try to look as professional and business related as possible. This part of town doesn't have too many wolves so keeping our secret is extremely important."

Izzy simply nodded. Where we live at, we don't have to keep our secret because we live in a town that's mostly run by wolves, so we're pretty safe. But up here.. there are more humans than us, if they find out that werewolves are in town, the hunters will make there way to us and we all know what that leads to.

"Hey Iz, can I ask you a question?"

"Of course"

"Do you have a weird feeling about this or is it just me?"

Izzy looked at me confused. "What do you mean? You said it's just a council meeting right?"

"Yeah but for some reason ever since I got the call about the meeting, my stomach has been turning and my gut tells me this isn't gonna be good."

"Well I mean I'll keep my eyes open for anything suspicious, but I guess we have to cross that bridge when we get to it. Don't worry so much." She said as she gently caressed my face.

I took a long deep but slow breath. Even though I'm angst about what is going to happen at this meeting, she still finds a way to make me smile and relax. This is why I need her.

We walked outside with our bags and saw a tall man in a black suit leaning against a town car with a sign that read 'Anderson'. Wow they really do go out of their way to make this look like a business meeting. As we reached the car, the man in the suit stood up straight and smiled slightly.

"Hello, you must be Mr. Anderson and Ms. Stevens. My name is Jackson Hughes, I will be escorting you and your Luna to our Council Office. It isn't too far, about 20 minutes away. You can settle your luggage in the trunk and we'll be on our way."

Izzy placed her hand in mine, "You ready for this?"

I smiled softly back at her. "After you, Mate."

We got in the car and he began to drive away. I really really hope this turns out better than my gut is telling me it is.
