Isabel's Pov.

After the pack meeting, everyone started walking around and talking. Some people came up to me and introduced themselves to me and my family, so we could all get to know each other like Logan had said.

I was getting a water from the kitchen when a cute, blonde guy walked up to me with a smirk. I had to admit, he was extremely sexy. I couldn't deny that.

He extended his hand to me. "Hey. My name is Brandon. I'm the Beta. Pleased to meet you" He said, grinning widely.

I smiled back. "Isabel." I said, shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you too."

"So, how are you feeling so far?" he asked, referring to whether or not I felt comfortable with everyone yet.

It actually wasn't that bad. Everyone was being really nice to me. I still missed home, but I could get used to living here.

"It's good. Everyone is really nice." I said honestly.

"That's good. Because if they weren't, i'd have no choice but to inforce some rules out here. After all, you don't say no to the Beta's orders" He said proudly.

I smirked. "Is that supposed to impress me or something?" 

He chuckled. "It usually impresses other girls" he said confidently.

"I'm not like other girls." I answered flirtatiously.

He smiled again. "I can see that" he threw his arm around me. "You should let me take you out. Show me how much different you are from other girls" He said huskily.

Just then, a loud growl erupted through the room.

"What the fuck was that?" The guy who I came to know as Brandon said.

I turned around, only to see Logan striding towards us, eyes completely black. Clearly, his wolf was in control.

He stopped when he got to us and shoved Brandon against the wall, lifting him by his shirt. I was beyond confused. Why on earth would he want to hurt his Beta?

"Logan, what the hell man! Let me go!" Brandon yelled.

Logan just growled even louder. "HOW DARE YOU!" he yelled back.

Logan's brother, Jason, entered the room when he heard all the commotion.

"Someone want to tell me what the hell is going on in here?" He asked loudly. He saw Logan holding Brandon up against the wall, so he walked over and grabbed Logan roughly, pushing him away from Brandon. My wolf suddenly let out a growl of her own when Jason pushed Logan. What the hell was wrong with her? Why is she acting all weird when he's in the room? 

He walked up to me and gripped my hand, not rough enough to hurt me but still. Once his hand slipped in mine, I felt electric shocks soar throughout my body, my wolf howling in excitement. The hell is wrong with her!? Why is she so crazy today?

"MATE" Logan growled possessively, fur beginning to sprout from his skin.

MATE!?! The hell is this guy talking about?

"Whoa whoa whoa. What did he just say?" I asked.

"MINE" Logan growled once more.

"Isabel, you need to calm him down" Jason informed me. "Your wolf needs to assure him that you and Brandon are just friends."

Confused with what the hell I was supposed to do, I placed my hand on Logan's shoulder, leaned in and whispered, "Calm down, Logan. It's okay. Push your wolf back" I said calmly. 

He stepped back, inhaling and exhaling short, calm breaths. His eyes changed back from black to blue, his fur retracting from his skin. Then, his eyes widened just as realization of what happened hit him.

"Oh shit." he said, running his fingers through his hair. 

Brandon just stood there, still shocked from the sudden attack from Logan. Everyone in the room was now speechless as our Alpha regained full control of himself.

"So Logan is your mate?" Mikey asked.

The room remained silent for a few more seconds before Jason roared in laughter. Everyone stared at him confused, wondering what he could possibly think was so funny about what just happened.

"Babe, what on earth is so funny?" Serena asked, just as weirded-out as the rest of us.

"Let me get this straight. We got 2 new families who joined the pack. Logan attacks Brandon for flirting with you, only to find out that you are his MATE? That's just hilarious to me!" He paused through his unbearable laughter.

Jason patted Logan on the back. "Today is just full of surprises huh, bro?" Jason joked. "Oh man, this should be fun" he said, grabbing Serena's hand and leaving the kitchen.

Everyone left the kitchen, leaving only Me, Brandon and Logan standing there, all of us still trying to process everything that happened a moment ago.

I stood there, waiting for one of them to speak because right now I was completely speechless.

"Brandon, man. I'm really sorry. I don't know what happened. I seriously didn't mean to attack you like that, its just that my wolf, he... He just got extremely jealous and possessive. I'm sorry, dude. I really am" Logan said apologetically.

Brandon sighed before slightly smiling. "It's okay, man. I know you didn't mean it. I didn't know she was your mate, bro. That's my bad" He assured him.

"I didn't know either" Logan told him. "It just sort of happened, I guess"

Logan turned to look at me. His face masked with different emotions. I had nothing to say to him. This was just too much right now.

"Well, I should go see what Mikey is doing" Brandon said, excusing himself from the kitchen.

I turned on my heels to leave the kitchen when Logan spoke up once more. 

"We need to talk about this." He said sternly.

I turned back around to face him. "I have nothing to say to you" I replied honestly. I didn't mean it in a rude way. I truely had nothing to say. The guy I came here determined to completely ignore ends up being my mate? Seriously? What is up with the world?

"But your my m-"

"Logan, I can't do this right now. I should go" I said, leaving before he had a chance to say another word.

Ahh, what a day. Just friggin' great!
