Logan's Pov.

My alarm started buzzing loudly, giving me a massive headache. I turned to hit the 'snooze' button, and realized it said "8:30am". I groaned. Being Alpha was a little tiring.

Just as I was about to get up, Jason opened my door and yelled, "RISE AND SHINE, IT'S TRAINING TIME"

I growled softly at his loud outburst, but he just laughed. I shot him a smug look, not in the mood for his little games today. He may be my older brother, but I was still his Alpha.

Most people wondered why I ended up being Alpha instead of Jason, especially because i'm 18 and he's 20. See, when my parents died, the Alpha position had to be given to his next of kin, and since Jason was the oldest, it had automatically been handed to him. Jason, however, never wanted to be Alpha, he didn't like the responsibilities that came with it, so he gave the Alpha position to me, and accepted my offer to become my Omega. I was a little reluctant at first, but I accepted the challenge. Being Alpha was a good distraction from thinking about my parents.

"Alright, i'm up, i'm up" I said, yawning and stretching.

"Let's go, Logan. I know you're probably not in the mood for it, especially after what happened last night, but we need to get everyone up. I've made a new training technique so I need everyone downstairs early today. It's time to get down to business" he said before leaving.

I sighed. The last thing I wanted to do was think about what happened last night. I felt like shit after I treated Brandon so harshly.

I'm still a bit upset that Isabel just walked off without talking to me. I mean, we're mates. Clearly we had A LOT to talk about. Starting off with the fact that she doesn't like me, down to the part that we're mates.

I really hoped Isabel would talk to me, because I really didn't want to let this go. She is my mate, after all. Why would she want to reject me? Had I done something wrong?

"She won't reject you, she's our mate. Give her time. Stop pouting and go after her" my wolf encouraged..

"I'm not pouting" I sulked. "I'm just saying, I'm sure she will be a little hesitant to speak to me after what we pulled yesterday" I replied.

'You had part in that too, Logan. Don't blame it on me. We are ONE. I am you, and you are me. WE felt threatened yesterday so WE took action' he countered.

I just sighed and blocked him off. He was right, anyway. Our human halves dominated our wolf halves, Alpha or not. We thought the same things, so if I was angry, I relied on my wolf half to protect us from any type of danger. The only reason for shifting was to just level out the playing field when going up against a predator. I made the decision to let my wolf half take control, because seeing Brandon's arm slung over our mate's shoulder angered us to the point of no return. Nobody touched our mate.

My thoughts were cut short when I heard a loud bang downstairs in the kitchen. Seeing as how I was only wearing boxers, I quickly threw some jeans on and ran to the kitchen.

When I opened the kitchen door, I saw Isabel helping Mikey clean up the floor, which was covered with spilled milk and cereal.

I smiled slightly. Mikey always woke up early, so he would come and try to give himself breakfast without waking me or Jason. He tried so hard to be independent. But he was only 9. He didn't have to try and do things for himself, that's what we were here for.

"What happened?" I asked them.

"I poured a bowl of cereal and I went to go sit down but I stubbed my toe on the chair so I tripped and dropped it. I was going to go upstairs and get you but Isabel came in and said she would help me so I wouldn't get in trouble" he said sadly.

I knelt down in front of him so we could have eye contact. "It's okay, Mikey. You're not in trouble. It was an accident, I don't blame you." I assured him.

He still looked a bit nervous, so I thought of something that might cheer him up.

"I'll tell you what.." I began, "How about you go and play with Mr. Torres' son outside and i'll take you to the park later on, okay?" I asked him.

He grinned. "Really? Thanks Logan!" He chirped, running out of the kitchen. He loved going to the park. My parents used to take Mikey out twice a week to let him shift and run around in the dirt. They would play out there for hours in a day. Since I became Alpha, I didn't have many opportunities to take him. Some days, Jason and Serena would go with him to the park, but they were busy alot, too. I felt bad for that, especially because sometimes I would think that I wasn't good enough to take care of him.

I stood up and saw Isabel standing there slightly uncomfortable. I had to admit I was a little nervous too. I still felt bad about last night. I didn't know what to say.

"Thanks for helping Mikey. You could have came and got me, you didn't have to clean it up" I told her.

She shot me a faint smile, most likely forced. "It wasn't a problem. He just looked so upset, I thought I should help him. It was the least I could do" she answered.

I nodded. "So, uhh. About last night"

She cut me off. "Can we talk about this later?" she whispered.

"Sure" I agreed. I wouldn't force her to talk about, but I knew we would have to talk about it some time.

I heard a whistle blow, meaning that Jason was ready to start training.

"That's our cue" I said.

We walked outside, joining with the rest of the pack. I glanced over at Brandon, sending him a faint smile. He simply nodded. I could tell he was still just a tiny bit bothered by what happened last night, but hopefully that would change because Brandon was my best friend since birth. I swore on everything that I would never, EVER, let a girl come in between our friendship, just like I would never let my best friend come in between my relationship. It would have to be either all of us together, or none of us together. Plain and simple.
