Wither held the Dungeon's door open for the others. Swift had already left, due to reports of recent, strange activity just outside the Corruption.
Night gratefully walked out the door. The Angry Bones, as it walked through, tipped its hat (Wither had given it a top hat) to him in thanks.
The door closed behind them as the three walked away from the Dungeon, on a long, arduous trip to the Corruption.
"I told you, Wither," Night reminded him, "I'll always be there for you."
Wither looked over at her. "I said that to you."
"Oh, right. But I wasn't wrong, was I?"
"Nope. Your statement still stands."
The Angry Bones was listening contently to their conversation.
"Exactly!"
"Why did you guys come for me, anyways? I needed to go through my sentence."
"Remember what Swift said?"
"Oh, right. That."
"That, and I couldn't let you suffer."
The Angry Bones seemed to think that was cute.
Night looked over at it. "Why is that thing following us?"
The Angry Bones acted as if it was offended.
"I think it might be Zale," Wither responded, somewhat excitedly. "I'll have to see if Doc can bring him back."
"Zale?!"
The Angry Bones did Zale's signature handshake with Wither.
"See?"
"I..." Night didn't know what to say, instead deciding to run up and hug Zale, who hugged her right back.
"I can't believe it's you, Dad..."
"DAD?!" Wither had no idea that Night was related to Zale at all, let alone being his daughter.
"Oh, yeah. Zale's... my father."
Wither was confused beyond belief. He was always told by Zale that Night was another one of his trainees. Zale never said anything about her being his daughter.
"When I was five, my Dad had started keeping me secret. He wanted nobody to know about me. Until he brought in a same-aged kid with no life - you."
Wither was slightly offended.
"He had treasured the fact that you and I had gotten along so well. He never wanted that to change. And, well, it didn't. From then on, you and I had done everything together. Trained together, ate together..."
Zale was pretending to cry tears of joy.
"When Dad had died, I knew that I only had one person to look out for - you..."
Wither was emotionally touched by that last statement, albeit not understanding why she would need to look out for him.
"And, eventually, my feelings for you changed. From friendship, to something else. Something a bit stronger..."
The Angry Bones stopped the two, and quietly slid behind a tree.
"Wither, you mean more to me than anything else in this world..."
Realizing what she said, she corrected herself quickly. "Well, besides Dad."
Wither was staring into her eyes, almost as if he was trying to read her emotions.
Something caught Night's attention, and the look on her face faded into horror.
Wither looked behind him to seem the Corruption being attacked viciously by both the Crimson and the Hallow.
