No!
They scream
Don't do it!
They yell
'Don't listen' You tell yourself
You'd be closer to them if you fell
Just imagine it, the weightlessness before the hit
The thunk of your body against the cold ground
The freedom
You'd be free, once and for all
No more pain
Resolve is all that is left
Walk to the edge
Lean over and look down
The screams from below resound
'Jump' they seem to say, 'jump'
Your whole body is thrumming
'Fall' you silently scream
The pain in your eyes
The unseen pain in theirs
You can no longer take the stares
Step back a little
Hear a gasp of relief from below
'No' you think
You smile a little
This is it
'No, I will jump'
Bent knees, prepare to release
Force them off the ground
And suddenly,
Your airborne
'Goodbye' is your thought
Goodbye, wretched world
Goodbye pain, goodbye tears
Enough is enough, I'm done with this life
A second before, almost too late
You think
What could have been
What if I hadn't
What if I had been happy
Would I be a different person
No, that wouldn't have made me safe
I'm now nothing more than a raith
And my clock has stopped
Before, I had a face
Before I had faith
I loved and gave life my all
But that was before the fall
