I was inspired to read this after I read Moonlight Madness, since it's just such an awesome book. I've never written a werewolf novel before, so this is like, a first for me =D Hope you guys enjoy! Don't forget to vote and comment!
**********
To be blunt, society sucks. I mean, who can be bothered with all the rules and regulations? Not me, that's for sure. So that's why I don't.
You can imagine the disappointment of my parents. Mainly because they're posh snobby bastards, or as they like to call themselves, "refined and upper class". Of course, if anyone else called the King and Queen snobby bastards, they would probably be dead. But obviously, my parents have a soft spot for their only daughter.
I was one of three, unfortunately. I had one older brother of 18, Xander, or 'Andy', an over-protective prat who all the ladies loved, and an adorable yet evil younger brother of five, Mathew. What a devious little muppet he was... I'd taught him well. When he pulled those wide, teary blue eyes and that wobbling lower lip, none of the palace servants could resist giving into him. Apart from Jill, but she was an evil bitch. That was why I kept in his good books, or at least tried to. His little talent came in handy when I was sneaking in at 3am, or getting up to other various shenanigans.
'Speak of the devil and it's sure to appear,' I thought with amusement as Matty burst into my bedroom without even knocking. If anyone else had dared do that, I would have literally torn them limb from limb, but little Matty was the exception.
"Becca, Becca!" he cried, launching himself onto my bed to tackle/hug me.
I chuckled. "Hey there champ," I replied as I returned his hug, settling him into my lap. "What you up to?"
"I was just running from-"
Just then, an out of breath Xander appeared at the doorway, his face red from exertion. Hey, he may be a werewolf, but my beloved younger brother could put even a kangeroo on steriods to shame.
"There you are, you little brat!" Andy cried, walking into the room, his face still red, his chest heaving.
Andy is my other brother. Like Matty and I, he has the same blue eyes and blond hair. While Matty's is short and spikey, Xander's is floppy. He refuses to cut it because "it looks cool when he flicks it out of his eyes". His words, not mine. He had a tall, bulking frame, packed with muscles. He just seemed to give off this vibe that warned you away, but at the same time pulled you closer...
"Hide me!" Matty squeaked, jumping out of my lap and hiding behind me, peeking out over my shoulder to look at the slightly amused, slightly annoyed Xander, who was slowly slinking towards the bed.
"What's he done this time?" I asked, sighing as I stood protectively in front of Matty. What can I say, no one but me was allowed to mess with the squirt.
"He stole my comb!" Andy replied, still stalking forwards.
I just looked at him. "That's the reason you chased him halfway across the palace? For a comb?" I laughed, noticing the comb in Matty's hands for the first time. "I thought he'd stolen your diary or something..."
"I don't have a diary!" Xander yelled, and I giggled some more, this time joined by Matty.
I held up my hands in surrender.
"Woah, sorry Andy, I didn't know you were so sensitive. I should be careful, you might burst into tears," I joked. You see, Xander just couldn't take it if you even implied that he was even slightly feminine. So naturally, I just couldn't help myself.
"Shut up Rebecca!" he growled, blue eyes furious. "Stop talking about me as if I'm a woman!"
"Becky, he used your full name," Matty muttered, chuckling. I turned back to Matty and threw him a grin.
"He did didn't he?" I looked back towards the fuming Xander, not concerned in the least. "Calm down bro, don't get your thong in a twist!"
I then proceeded to crack up. Seems I was the only one who found it funny, as I was the only one laughing, but I didn't care.
"What's a thong?" Matty asked, little face scrunched up in confusion. I just laughed harder.
"Never you mind," I said, ruffling his hair, still laughing while Xander just stood there in stony silence.
"Are you quite finished?" he asked, his toned, calm and clipped. His 'royal' tone.Well, him and his royal tone could kiss my ass.
Slowly, I sauntered over to my older brother, standing right in front of him. He was about a head taller than me, but I wasn't intimidated. Not in the least.
"Not by a long shot," I whispered, grinning, before slowly walking out the room after grabbing my bag.
Well, that was a dramatic exit, if I do say so myself.
"Rebecca!" a stern voice called. I rolled my eyes, not stopping. "Rebecca, I know you heard me!" Sighing, I came to a halt, turning to see the head servant, Jill. She was an old woman with greying hair and ice blue eyes. Her frame was large, and would be better suited to a man.
"What?" I asked, annoyed that she'd interrupted my dramatic exit.
"Don't you talk to me like that young lady!" she snapped, glaring at me.
Jill and I have never got on. She never could forgive me for almost getting her fired. In my defense, it was an accident! I had apologised, but the bitch just didn't care. Man, she needed to lighten up.
"Did you need something?" I asked rudely, sending her a glare of my own.
"Actually, yes. I seem to have lost your little brother. Have you seen him anywhere?" She sounded worried. Meh. Matty was fine. I'm sure the fight that him and Xander were probably in was nothing.
"Sorry, I haven't seen him," I said, keeping my voice and face blank.
Her eyes narrowed. "I can smell him on you!"
I made a show of sniffing myself. "Really? You must be losing your touch Jill."
I quickly walked off before she could say anything else. Behind me, I heard her muttering about spoiling princesses. I just grinned and continued on my way. I only looked back once, and I couldn't help but laugh.
Jill stood in the middle of the palace hallway, scratching her head and searching all around, looking rather lost. She sort of reminded me of a lost puppy. At the sound of my laughter, her head snapped towards me and she sent me a filthy look. I stuck my tongue out at her.
And then suddenly, I was on the floor.
"What the fuck!" I cried, glaring up at the person who had bumped into me and knocked me down. No one treats me like that, not even by accident! I looked up, mouth opening to yell at the prick, but then I just stopped and stared. My heart skipped a beat as my eyes met the most gorgeous shade of brown I'd ever seen in my life.
