"Where are you off to?" Julius asked quietly, right next to my ear. I shrieked, spinning round and on pure instinct, elbowed him in the neck. He let out a hoarse yell, all the breath wheezing out of him as he fell to the floor.
Once I got my bearings against, I loomed over him, smirking. He glared at me accusingly, so I just smiled at him sweetly.
"Hey Julius, how's the view down there?" I asked, turning and walking off without waiting for an answer. I heard the sounds of him jumping to his feet and sure enough, he was by my side again in less than a second. "Annoying twat," I muttered under my breath.
We reached the main foyer, the front doors standing tall and proud. Two of the servants opened them for me so that I could exit. I smiled my thanks to them, trying to ignore the appraising looks they were sending Jules as well as the boy himself.
"Do you greet everyone like that or is it just me?" he grumbled, scowling, following me as I walked over to my pride and joy, which was parked on the rather large driveway, right in front of the water fountain. My car was a black Ferrai number, modern and high tech, and ran like an absolute dream. I swear, if I were a guy, it would have starred in many of my wet dreams. Not that I have wet dreams of course.
"I don't know, you tell me," I said, getting out my keys.
"I knew it! I knew I was special!" he cried, still following me.
I snorted. "Special needs more like." I clicked open the car and jumped in, slamming the door in his face. I distantly heard a disgruntled noise coming from him, which made me grin. I turned the keys in the ignition and was just about to drive off when Julius opened the car door, jumping into the passenger seat beside me, scaring me half to death.
"Julius! What the fuck?" I cried, glaring over at him.
He just smiled innocently at me. "What?"
"Get out of my baby!"
He just looked at me, not comprehending. "Huh?"
I rolled my eyes. "Get out of my car, Einstein!"
Julius blinked at me. "You call your car baby?" he asked slowly.
"You should see me around my Triumph," I muttered, looking away and grinning, imagining my other precious child.
Julius let out a girlish sqeal, which left me blinking at him in confusion. Once he realised what he'd done, his face flushed an adorable shade of red. He cleared his throat, trying and failing to regain his dignity.
"You own a Triumph?" he asked in a comically deep voice.
"Yes I do," I replied, mimicking his deep tone, making him scowl.
"I was hassling my parents for years to buy me one, but they'd never cave. How'd you manage to get round your parents?" His face took on a faraway look, and I could just tell he was imagining a Triumph.
"Oh, I didn't get round them," I said dismissively, not bothering to elaborate.
Julius frowned in confusion. "Then how'd you get the money to buy it?"
"Hmm?" I asked, slightly distracted by the super cool black skull air fresheners hanging from my car ceiling. 'Cause I'm cool like that. "Oh, I just stole their credit card, brought the bike, returned their card and waited for hell to break lose." I smiled at the memory.
"And how'd that work out for you?" Jules smirked.
I smirked right back at him. "I got the bike didn't I?" I shot back.
He shrugged. "Fair point."
We sat in silence for a few moments, the beautiful sound of the engine and the low volume radio the only sound.
"Err, Julius?" I said, glancing over at him to see him staring vacantly out his window.
He turned to face me. "Yeah?"
"Why the fuck are you still here?" I made sure that my tone was pleasant, my smile bright.
He just blinked at me. "I'm coming with you," he replied, his tone implying that this had been obvious.
"Not just no but hell no," I quickly denied, throwing him a look that would make the Grim Reeper proud.
"Sorry Princess, but you don't have a choice in the matter. I'm coming with you unless you can physically remove me from this car yourself." I opened my mouth to snap at him but then froze as I realised something.
"Did you just call me Princess?" I asked slowly, carefully.
He smirked cockily at me. "So what if I did?"
I stared at him unblinkingly for a moment, making him shuffle uncomfortably in his seat. Suddenly, I darted out, fingers digging into his neck, knocking the breath out of him. My other hand jabbed into his side when he was holding his neck, hard enough to make him wheeze.
"Don't ever call me Princess again, unless it's in the proper, formal manner," I hissed, grabbing his hair and pulling his face up so that he looked me in the eye, making sure he heard the Alpha command in my tone. "Understand?" My hold on his hair tightened and he nodded sharply, confusion and curiosity evident in his dark eyes.
I released him quickly, turning to face my window as I forced the forbidden memories back down.
"Someone's got a bit of a temper," Jules muttered under his breath.
"What was that?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, nothing, nothing," he dismissed quickly, flashing me a cheeky grin.
I rolled my eyes. "Why are you even here?"
He pretended to look hurt. "Rebecca, you wound me!"
"Julius, you annoy me," I mocked, placing a hand over my heart as he had just done.
He scowled. "Do you have an answer for everything?" he asked, irritated.
I grinned. "Yes."
With that, I leaned over him and opened his door. And because the fool had yet to put his seatbelt on, I then proceeded to push him out of my car. He fell to the ground with a surprised yelp, landing ungracefully on his butt. I then quickly slammed the door closed and locked it so that he couldn't get back in.
Julius swiftly jumped up from the ground, glowering at me through the tinted windows. I laughed, lowering the window just a little bit so that he could hear me.
"Always wear a seat belt," I told him, barely able to keep a straight face. Julius growled at me in response, but I just laughed, rolling the window back up and speeding off down the driveway.
