King Philip, aka Becca's dad :) ----->

"Dad wants me to what?!" I yelled at Jill the following day, my voice raising a few octaves.
She smirked at me, a smug look plastered onto her features. "You heard me. He wants you to attend the ball." She crossed her arms over her admittedly flat chest, trying to look authorative.
"No. No way in hell am I-"
"Rebecca, language!" she scolded.
"Oh, like I give a shit," I snapped, rolling my eyes.
“Rebecca, if I have to tell you again-“
“Oh lighten up you old bat,” I said, jumping up from my bed and stalking over to my wardrobe.
When I spared her a glance over my shoulder, her face was a comical shade of red, her eyes flooding black as her wolf tried to surface. I watched in amusement as she wordlessly left the room.
Half an hour later, my father entered my room without knocking. I growled at him, but he just ignored me, going over to my chair in the corner and sitting down. He held his head high, trying to look as kingly as possible. Bastard.
“Rebecca,” he greeted, his face remaining in its careful blank mask.
“Phillip,” I responded, just because I knew he hated it when I called him by his first name. It wasn’t ‘respectful’. Since when was I ever respectful anyway?
“What have I told you about calling me by my first name?” he growled, scowling at me, blue eyes narrowed.
“You said that it was disrespectful and that I should never do it,” I repeated, my tone bored. I managed to stop myself from rolling my eyes.
“Then why-“
“You annoy me, I annoy you,” I said simply.
“Rebecca, I am your King, Alpha and Father. You will follow my orders on this.” His tone brooked no room for argument. Not that I cared.
“So my will, my opinion, means nothing to you?” I asked quietly, making it sound like I was upset. Really, I was just pissed. “It’s nice to know where I stand Dad.”
I got up from my bed and walked to the door.
“Becca,” he called, his tone filled with regret. I stopped, slowly turning around to face him, making sure to hide my face behind my hair.
“What?”
“You know that’s not what I meant.”
I looked at him then, knowing exactly how to play on his heartstrings.
“Isn’t it?”
“No, of course it wasn’t!” he replied, sounding horrified that I’d even think that. He pulled me into a hug, resting his chin on my head. “Becca, you know I love you. You’re my only daughter. No matter what, I’ll always love you and be proud of you. How could I not be? You’re so beautiful. I know that you’ll grow up to be a great Queen one day, even if you’re…challenging…now.” He pulled back to look me in the eye. “I would never try to take your will away.”
I found my eyes watering at his little speech. Damn him! Looks like I wasn’t the only one who knew how to play on the heartstrings.
“Do you really mean that?” I whispered, my eyes locking on his.
“Of course I do.” He kissed me on the forehead and then moved back. “I know you don’t want to go to the ball Becca. Believe me, I think we all know. But it’s your duty as a Princess to attend.”
“But I-“
“Becca.” He gave me a stern look. “You know it’s the right thing to do.” He walked over to the door, but then paused and looked back at me. “But if it’s really that bad, I give you permission to leave early.”
I glared at him for a moment. “Fine, I’ll go!” I relented, still bitter.
Dad grinned at me. “Thanks Becca, I knew you’d see-“
“Yeah, yeah, I’m still mad at you,” I retorted, sticking my tongue out of him and falling back onto my bed.
He chuckled. “Love you too Becca.”
As soon as he left, I groaned.
“Parents!” I growled, burying my face in my pillow.
“Oh, and one more thing,” my father said, poking his head back round the door.
“What?!” I practically yelled, half out of annoyance and half out of surprise.
“Try to be nicer to Jill. She was most…displeased,” he said, grinning slightly. Good old father didn’t much care for Jill either. The only reason he kept her in the palace was because she was one of the only servants who could keep little Matty in line.
I chuckled. “Father, I make no promises.”
He smiled. “That’s my girl.” He blew me a kiss and then left again.
“Parents,” I said again, this time with affection and a smile on my face.
