I walk into the police station confident about a new day. As most of you already know I am a psychic detective working for the SBPD. Well a fake psychic, but I'm very good at looking for small details so I easily pass as one. "Gus!" I yell his name, hopefully my best friend shows up. He finally does. "Gus where were you this morning? You were suppose to meet me at the office." He took a sip of his coffee. "Sorry Shawn, I had to go get myself my caffeine fix." I take his coffee and drink some. "You didn't bring me a cup?" He takes his coffee back. "No Shawn, if you want some go get some yourself! This is my coffee." I chuckle. "Ahh come in Gus don't you know sharing is caring?" He shakes his head. "I never learned that." I raise an eyebrow. "Really? We learned that in kindergarten." He shakes his head. "No we did not! You made that up!" I was about to explain to him that he was probably busy picking his nose when we learned that when Lassiter walked up to us. "Guys!" We both turned and acted casual. "Lassie!" He glared at us. "We need you for a case. So quit acting like idiots and come to my office!" I smirked. "Yes sir!" He scoffed and walked us to his little hideout he calls his office. I watched him closely.....Perfect Lassie. He walked us into his office. "Okay guys here is the thing. There has been a murder down at the park. A girl was found dismembered.....blood everywhere" He looked down at the ground. "I need you to go there right now.....juliet is there. She is working the case." I flashed him a smile. "Don't worry lassie we are on it." He nods. "Get going! Let me know if you find anything." He avoids my gaze. I bite my lip. "As you wish. Come on Gus let's get going."

At the crime scene

When Gus and I arrived Jules and the other detectives were inspecting the crime scene. "Jules, what have we got so far?" She looks up at us the sun getting into her eyes. "We got a call about a body. Found her completely torn apart......limb from limb. It was gruesome." Gus looked at her. "Where's the body?" She wrote something down on her notepad. "They took it for examination. We need to find out who this girl was." I quickly look around for clues noticing there was blood stains on the grass where the body must have been. I act like I'm concentrating. "I'm getting something! The body was dragged here, yes? But the deed was done elsewhere." Juliet nods. "Yeah but why leave her here? Where it would be found. Wouldn't it be easier just to hide it somewhere. Murderer must not be very bright." I look around for anymore clues. "Jules, you said the body was dismembered...........what was found on the crime scene." She sighs. "Everything....her legs, arms etcetera." I nod trying to think of something witty to say. "Her head?" She nods. "Yes spencer that too." Gus butts in. "But why cut her up in pieces?" Jules glares at him. "That's what we are trying to find out." I let out a sigh. "Don't worry jules, I will get to the bottom of this. Do we have any witnesses?" She points at a sharply dressed man. "He called it in but other than that. There are no witnesses." I walk over to the man to question him. "Hello my name is Shawn Spencer and this is my partner control alt delete. Can you tell me what you know?" He nods shakily. "Well I was going to work and I noticed something on the ground so I got out of my car to see what it was and that's when I called the police." Gus looks at him suspiciously. "You didn't see anything out of the ordinary?" The man scoffed. "What? Besides the chopped up girl?" I interupt. "What my partner means is did you see any suspicious activity when you got out of your car?" He shakes his head. "No." I let out a breath. "Okay thanks for your time."

I walk back to the car. "We need to get to the bottom of this Gus." He nods. "Who is sick enough to dismember a poor girl?" I start the car. "I have no clue but we need to find out." He nods. "Should we call Lassie and tell him what we have so far?" My heart skips a beat at the sound of his name........lassie. "And tell him what? We have nothing yet. Let's go see my dad maybe he can give us something to help." As I drive to his house I couldn't stop thinking about Lassiter. His smile and his eyes. I shake those thoughts away. I couldn't think like that. It was wrong but for some reason Lassie never left my mind.

I parked the car in my dad's driveway and walked up to the door, knocked twice and ourselves in. "Dad!" He walks out carrying a sandwich. "Hey guys." Gus smiles. "Is that for me?" He chuckles. "No its my lunch get your own gus. Just kidding if you want one feel free to make yourself one." Gus quickly heads to the kitchen. I sit down. "Dad there has been a murder." He sits across from me. "What? Who?" I sigh. "A girl was found dismembered in the park and I mean legs and arms torn apart. It's was-" he interrupted me. "I don't need you to paint me a picture. I get it. So do you have any leads?" I shake my head. "I have absolutely nothing. Nobody saw anything at all and the murderer covered his tracks up really good it seems like." He scratches his head. "Make sure you check every detail son. Don't leave any stone unturned. Go back to the station check and see what they found." I nod. "Thanks dad. Gus let's go!" He walks out of the kitchen eating a sandwich. "Wait up Shawn I'm eating." I glare at him. "Eat it on the way back to the station." He stomps out the door angrily. I smile. "Bye dad." I walk out the door. "Come on Gus stop acting like you are twelve." He gets in the car. "You are just jealous because you can't make a good sandwich even if you tried." I start the car. "Gus you know I'm a horrible cook. Remember when I tried making cookies when we were in fourth grade." He nods. "Yeah you almost burnt down the whole neighborhood!" I laugh as I drive back to the station. "I so did not! It wasn't that bad!" He shakes his head. "It was so that bad! The fire department had to come. Your dad almost nearly killed you!" I nod. "Whatever." On the way back, I had two things on my mind. The case and Lassie but mostly Lassie. The truth was I think I'm starting to develop feelings for him. Shit!
