Aaliyah's POV
It's been a week since my grandpas funeral. Gios birthday is 2 days away and I still didn't know what to get him. I was in 3rd period with Jenelle Brandon and Devonte talking to them about it.

When the teacher turned around I asked "Do you guys know what you're getting Gio for his birthday."

They all said no then I said "I don't know what to get him I've been looking for hints of something he wants but I got nothing."

Jenelle turned to me and said "throw him a surprise party."

I thought about it for a second then looked at the three of them and said "you think he'd like that?"

Devonte nodded then said "He might I've never really seen him party but you never know."

Brandon agreed then said "How are you gonna get the organized in a day."

I said "Well I'm not gonna do it alone there's 6 of us we can get it done. Jenelle you can do the invite list with Logan, I'll take care of food with Cassie and Brandon, and Devonte you just have to get him there."

"Okay but where are we gonna have it." Said Brandon

"Oh right well I can't do my house my parents would never let me."

Jenelle looked at me and said "Have it at my house my mom wouldn't mind."

"Okay so we'll all go to Jenelles house Saturday evening so we can set up everything then Devonte bring Gio around 8:45 I'll just sleep over your house Friday and Saturday so it's easier." I said as I looked toward Jenelle

Gios POV
I've been home all day and haven't gotten one happy birthday text or call from anyone of my friends. Not even Aaliyah. I texted her earlier but she never answered. Devonte said he was gonna come to my house today so hopefully he remembers.

When he got to my house I opened the door and he said "Gio happy birthday" then gave me a "bro" hug

I hugged him back then said "thanks at least someone remembered"

"No one else said happy birthday?"

"Nope only you but whatever are you gonna come in?."I stood out the way so he could combs him

He shook his head no then said "No I was about to ask if you'd come to Jenelles house with me I left something at her house the other day."

"Yeah sure lets go." I said about to step out

He stopped me from walking any further and said "Wait go change I'm not taking you out in public like that."

I rolled my eyes then ran back upstairs and put on decent clothes that he approved of then we left.

I got a text from Devonte saying they had just left so I told the people that were already here to get ready.
We decided not to invite too many people just a few from our school that we know but a few people came that none of us had remembered inviting.

I looked out my window waiting to see Gio or Devontes car. When I saw the car I turned the music down and waited for them to ring the doorbell.

Gio looked like he was having a horrible day but I figured that was cause I told everyone not to say happy birthday.

They rang the doorbell and Jenelle opened it while I went to go hide with everyone else. They were just talking normally until I heard them coming toward the living room where we all were. As they got closer I counted to 3 quietly and when Jenelle opened the door we all shouted out "SUPRISEEE"
