5:00 PM

Today the kids are coming back home and Stevie thought it would be cool if I surprised the kids by picking them up in her place. So currently Lauren and I are driving to my mom's place but first we're gonna get Chick-fil-a because we can.

L- How does it feel?
A- How does what feel?
L- Being able to see your kids again.
A- Nerve wracking.
L- Shouldn't be that bad, it's not like you've been gone for years ya know.
A- True but I'm still a nervous wreck.

Lauren gave me a sympathetic smile and reached into the chick-fil-a bag grabbing my sandwich and handing it to me.

L- Eat your sandwich and chill everything will be fine.
A- How do you know that?
L- Well for one they're your kids and they love you no matter what.

I sit silently taking a bite of my sandwich thinking about my current situation. Then I'm brought out of my thoughts by Lauren pinching my cheek.

L- Besides, who couldn't love this adorable face?

I swat her hand away laughing.

A- Stop that.

6:00 PM

We were sitting in the car outside of my mom's house and I'm a nervous wreck--still. It can't go bad right? I mean they are my kids after all, and they love me. I take a deep breath and get out the car as lauren followed close behind.

L- You got this Hills, I believe in you.

I nod and knock on the door.

H- Who is it?

A huge face eating grin takes over my face hearing Harvey's voice on the other side of the door

A- Me.
H- Me who? What's the password?
A- Poop de loop Jr.

I hear a quiet 'no way' from the other side of the large door followed by a light chuckle from Lauren. I turn around smiling to find her recording the situation. I was about to say something when the door opens and I turn around greeted by a teary eyed Dinah staring at me. I smile even bigger and sit on the porch directly in front of her in awe. We stare at each other for a while then she reaches her hand out and cups my cheek. A few tears fall and I quickly reach over to wipe them away.

D- M-Mommy?
A- Hi baby girl.

I fall backwards from Dinah suddenly jumping on me engulfing me in a death grip of a hug. I laughed through my tears squeezing her back just as tight.

D- I missed you so much.
A- I missed you too D.

5:15 PM

I looked up scanning the area in the house with my eyes looking for Harvey.

A- Where's your brother?

She shrugged sniffling as I stood up carrying her into the house with me. As I entered, with Lauren still following of course, I looked into the living room and found it empty with Spongebob playing. I looked in the kitchen and seen it too was empty, as I made my way up the stairs I heard a light repetitive thump coming from a room on the end of the hall and a voice from the room at the top of the stairs. I decided to go to the room closest to me first and knocked. There was no answer, and since the door was unlocked I walked in, meaning I stuck my head through the crack in the door. The TV hanging on the wall was playing some random soap opera and one of the male stars was was in shock from a slap from who I'm assuming is his mistress.
