Tis the night before Christmas, there was not a creature or sound throughout the house as the fire kept the room warm. The Christmas lights shine bright in the corner. While Takeshi laid his head on my lap slobbered all over me. I reached my arm to grab Riku's hand from behind me on the couch so that I could wake him. But he just simply rolled to the over side a bit, leaving me with the merman.

As I looked back over at Takeshi I realized how much of a fool I was to bring him into my home. Knowing my current condition; I could never leave the islands without consequence. I could never visit him in the Ocean without risking it all. The more he stay with me the more it will hurt me in the long run. Then at that moment in time I was not thinking clearly I thought that things would be alright, but it was not true at all.

The black mark on my left arm is living proof that I am simply not free, but that I am privileged. If that made any sense the mark on my arm was given to me by mom one night before she left three years back. I knew; not to question her when she did these things. That I had to do was sit still and allow it like a good boy. While it costed my freedom it brought along other things that proved to be useful, but there was only one way for me to be free from her grasp and that would cost me my lively hood, inheritance, and status for the sake of freedom.
