Lucas ran after Maya.

"Maya! Maya!"

Maya pulled her hood up and walked faster. Lucas reached her.

"Maya, I'm sorry."

"Why?"

"I never answered you."

"You don't need to. I'm going to be gone soon, and you will all be happy."

"Maya." Lucas stopped Maya, "Please, don't go."

"I'm going, and there is nothing you can do to change my mind. Goodbye Lucas."

Maya walked away, but again, Lucas caught up to her.

"I'm not sure about my feelings. Back in Texas, I loved you. At the Ski Lodge, nothing changed except your feelings about me. You told me to go for Riley, I thought you didn't like me anymore, so I went for Riley. I thought Riley would help me get over my feelings for you, I was wrong."

"What are you saying, Huckleberry?"

"I love you, Maya, I always have. I want to change your mind. Come with me."

Lucas walked with Maya to his house.
