I'm hyperventilating because my dad is at the front door, demanding Cole to let him in and check if I was here. Cole isn't here obviously since he's at the front door.
Why does he show up at the worst time possible? It's his first time going to this house. Cole is arguing with him outside, saying that he has no right to demand to go inside like this. My dad being the stupid cunt he is, is shouting at him that I'm his daughter and that he has no right to keep me from him. Cole's pretending that he doesn't know where I went, saying that I visited here only to tell him that if anyone ask where I am located currently tell them that she flew out of the country.
"I don't even know her name!" Cole shouts.
"Yeah, well the people around this neighborhood told me that she's staying with you," My dad argues.
"Okay then, if you wanna come and check then be my guest. Just know that she isn't here," Cole spits out like venom from his mouth.
I'm hidden under the couch at the living room. You can't see me since there was something draped over it, like a blanket or something. So unless you lift that, you'd be able to see me but my dad is too stupid to think of that.
I hear the footsteps pass by me. I cover my mouth, making sure that I'm not making a sound.
After a while, I hear a door open and close.
"Where is she?" My dad's voice demands from the outside.
"I told you already, she left the country," Cole replies in a dull tone, repeating his lie.
The door opens and it was silent for a minute.
"You can come out now," Cole's voice calls out.
I struggle to squeeze out of couch and Cole notices. He lifts up the front of the couch and I roll to him.
He looks down at me and smiles, "You are so," He drags and I raise my eyebrows. "Nevermind."
"What were you gonna say?" I stand up.
"Nothing," He rushes it off and walks to the study. "I have to record this song, do you wanna come with me?" He says from the study.
"What if he sees me?" I walk to him.
He frowns, "So you're gonna stay?"
"I'm too scared to go out," I sit down on the chair next to him. "I'm sorry," I look down.
"It's not your fault, don't worry." He grabs my chin and makes me look at him.
I look into his blue-green eyes and smile a little. "I'm gonna stay and clean, you can go with your friends."
"You know you don't have to, right?"
"You do everything in here, I feel like I should at least clean."
He nods, "Okay, I'm gonna go in like thirty minutes then."
I nod and stand up. I walk up the stairs and went into his room, I look around and it wasn't that messy but I clean anyways.
After the top part of the house, I hear Cole shout "Bye." I walk down the stairs to him.
"When are you coming back?" I ask.
"Hopefully around three," He pauses. "But I don't know yet, I'll text you."
I smile at him and wave, "Goodbye."
He says goodbye back and opens the door. He goes out and closes it. I walk to the door and lock it then I continue on cleaning.
While I was cleaning the thought of my dad coming back keep on coming back. Sometimes in the middle of dusting furniture or vacuuming I would start to hyperventilate and fall to my knees and cry. After a while, I would get over it and continue on cleaning. It wasn't easy, trying to calm myself down without the help of anyone, but I did it. And I'm very proud of myself for accomplishing that.
