The bell rings and as I head out of school with Gigi all I think about is how Cale was very sensitive before I left.
"How did it go with Cale yesterday?"
I stay silent a little while smiling apologetically.
"We ended up not hanging out."
Her cheery face suddenly drops as she looks at me confused.
"Why?"
"Not quite sure, he realized he had something to do."
Her understanding look turned to an annoyed glare.
"Stuff to do..." she mumbles darkly to herself.
"It's fine! I had homework to do anyways!" I attempt to calm her down.
"I'm sorry Maya... That must have not been nice to hear. I bet you were excited for it too." She softens.
"Yea... Whatever."
"I'm going out now, wanna join?" Gigi tries to cheer up again for the both of us.
"Where are you going?" I ask, interested in the offer, although I know she's only suggesting it because of what I just told her.
"To the shopping mall, in the end Scott is taking me on a date next Sunday."
"Scott?"
"Yea, the guy I've been getting on with for like the last few weeks. You were daydreaming all the time, remember?"
"No... But, I guess I can see who it is."
"He's hot."
"Gigi, there's more to a person than their looks." I reply scolding her.
She looks down a second, thinking about it.
"Well they didn't take the time to know me before spreading rumors..." She mumbles low.
"They were bitches and you're better than them. They were just jealous."
She looks at me flashing a kind but sad smile.
"If I didn't take the time to properly thank you then I'm doing it now. Thank you. Thank you for everything. And finally thank you for being there for me when everyone else wasn't. So it's my turn to give back now! Let's go shopping!"
She wraps her arms around me, hugging me tightly and I hug her back.
"I was only doing the right thing then, now I know it was the best decision I ever made. So thank you too for sticking by me for so long."
Her eyes brighten up as she breaks our hug momentarily.
"You're welcome gorgeous." She shoots at me with a killer smile.
"You're one to talk!" I fire back, amused by her compliment.
"Anyways, shopping? Yes or no?"
The shopping mall is pretty far from my place and the bus takes a long time to come... But clothes though...
Decisions, decisions...
I spot my mom from the corner of my eye and immediately frown in confusion.
What is she doing here?
I stop to turn around and properly look to make sure it's her. It is her. It has to be. I would recognize her even a mile away. I bet I could smell her expensive perfume too. Gigi continues past me until she stops to look at me.
