Four days.

It had been four days since he'd left and it felt like a century. Elena was craving him, needing him more than anything. His scent, his eyes, his smirk, his jokes, his protection; she missed everything.

She'd been doing nothing but going to school. Her routine was from home to school, from school to home. She barely talked to Bonnie and Caroline. They were worried about her and she knew it. She told them not to worry, she told them that she was fine but her attitude gave her away.

And she was worried about Damon, because he hadn't called her and he wasn't picking up her calls -which was weird because he'd told her to call him if something was wrong. The truth is, she was thinking the worst.

Suddenly, her phone rang. She was already thinking it was him telling her he was coming sooner, or just assuring her he was alright. But all her hopes fell when she saw it was just Caroline.

"Hey Care, what's up?" she asked. She wasn't really in the mood to talk to anyone, but she wasn't going to hung up on her best friend either.

"Hey Elena, you ok? You've been acting a little weird these days and you won't talk to us. Did we do something? Is anything wrong?" Caroline sounded worried, and she was right.

"No Caroline, you guys didn't do anything. I already told you I'll be fine. I am fine I mean. Look I gotta go now. I'll call you later ok? Bye". She quickly hung up and actually felt bad for Caroline because she didn't want to hurt her but she had to do it.

It was family night tonight, which meant that Jeremy, Jenna and her had to have dinner together and that Jenna was cooking, which was something dangerous but they had to take the risk. And, besides, Ric was coming.

At 7:00 o'clock there was a knock in the door and Jenna went to open. Just in time she thought. This is going to be a lovely evening. She opened the door there it was Alaric, dressed up not too casual but not too elegant. Perfect.

"Hey Ric, how are you?" Jenna asked, with her sweet voice and a perfect smile.

"I'm fine, thank you. And you?" oh he was totally the gentleman.

"Great! Thank you. But, yeah, please, come on in" she had forgotten to tell him to come in, she was too distracted by his looks.

"Thanks. I brought a pie for dessert, I hope you like it." he said shyly and insecure.

"Thank you so much Ric. You can leave it here if you want. You can go with Jeremy and Elena if you'd like to, they're setting the table. I just have to go finish the food. Five minutes and it'll be ready."

"Alright" when he reached the dining room, Jeremy and Elena have already finished setting the table and it was pretty. "Hey guys, good evening. Wow, the table is really beautiful" it wasn't that beautiful, it was just a normal table with four plates and flowers in the middle, but he was trying to be liked.

"Hello Mister Saltzman, thank you" Elena replied, politely.

"You're welcome, and please call me Ric" they nodded and sat in silence. Two minutes later Jenna arrived with the food. It really looked delicious and Jeremy and Elena were wondering when had Jenna learnt to cook that well.
