Elena was running through the woods careless and free. She was happy. She was excited.

Ecstatic.

She loved the feeling of the wind messing her hair whenever she passed rushing through the woods. She loved hearing the sound of the birds' form miles away.

She still had that craving inside of her, though. The one she struggled with sometimes whenever she was around someone. Someone human.

Because now, she was a vampire.

The one thing she had hated the most. Thing she had thought she would never become. And she loved it. Every minute of it. But the thing she loved the most was beating Damon.

"You totally cheated!!" he yelled when he approached her.

"I did not! Besides, how could I have cheated?" she asked, innocently.

"Well, it was pretty obvious that you're were distracting me!"

"Oh yeah? And why would I do that?"

"To defeat me." he replied, pouting like a child.

"Aw, Damon don't pout. It doesn't suit you. Besides I can't help it if I'm gorgeous." she replied batting her eyelashes. Mmmh, she had grown an attitude with all this vampire stuff he thought

"Sure you can't." he said with his famous smirk.

"Admit it Damon. I'm faster, stronger. And younger." she replied winking.

"Hey, hey, hey! Did you just call me an ancient?" he asked, trying to hide the smile that was growing on his face.

"Of course not. I just made a statement. I mean, I am younger than you, aren't I?"

"Yes."

"So, I was right. As always." she replied. It had only been two years since Damon had turned her. He hadn't liked her suggestion a bit, but she'd gotten so persistent that he'd had to accept. But on one condition. One day, she had to be his wife. And she had been happy to oblige.

The day she had decided to change her life and future for good, Damon had been very nervous. He had already planned how to do it. He wasn't going to kill her with his bare hands, that would rip him apart. He'd had to poison her. It had been hard hearing her heartbeat stop but not as hard as hearing her bones cracking. She'd eaten her meal and then she had taken a nap, dying in her sleep. It had been a nice death. She didn't suffer. She didn't feel anything. She woke up a couple of hours later, with Damon holding her in his arms and kissing her.

They were getting married in a month and nothing supernatural had happened in Mystic Falls in two years. Everything was perfect now, and nothing could tear them apart.
