"Lucy, be a dear and see who's at the door. I really don't wanna leave my spot," Susan said from her perch on Caspian's lap.
Lucy smiled at the two and headed toward the door. So far, this trip had been easier than she expected.
"I guess true love conquers all," Lucy thought with a dreamy tone.
"I guess so too, dear one," Said a voice. Lucy smiled widely as she recognized the voice as none other than Aslan.
The hallway leading to the doorway soon reached its end and Lucy stood facing the door. With the same smile she had earlier, she opened the door.
Her smile soon faded as she recognized the man at the door to be none other than James. His crooked grin grew more and more shifty as his eyes swept over Lucy's form.
"Can I help you," Lucy's voice broke his wicked gazes.
"I told you earlier, Sara, that Susan and I have a date planned for tonight. If she is unavailable, however, the offer goes to you," His sleazy voice grew a bit to pleased when when he spoke of her taking Susan's place.
"Why don't you come in?" Lucy knew that it might not be in his best interest to come anywhere near Caspian, as Caspian would pound him to a pulp, but after those uncomfortably feelings she got from his eyes raking in her form she didn't really care.
"Susan!" James called.
"Hide me," Susan murmured into Caspian's chest.
Caspian wrapped his arms tighly around her. "He will not get anywhere near you."
Lucy walked into the sitting room followed closely by James. The look on James face changed from that of lust to that of anger.
"Susan you little whore! I leave for three days and suddenly your curled up in the arms of some dolly ditzy guy! I thought you were less of a share crop than that!" James raised his hand as if to strike Susan.
"That is quite enough sir!" Caspian stood up, carefuly setting Susan back on the chair.
"Uh-oh... I think Caspian's going to flip his wig," Lucy said quietly. "Aslan help us all!"
James stood facing Caspian, the two men staring each other down. While James looked as if he could injure the man across from him, Caspian's looks were to kill.
"Well, if it isn't Ben Seafare, the man I saw earlier. So what? You heard me taking and decided to get a piece of the action yourself?" James taunted.
Caspian's eyes flared a dangerous tone. "What you did to her was not acceptable! Forcing drinks down her throat to make her drunk enough that you could have your way with her is a crime! If you were not abusive and threatening to her I am sure she would have reported you. But maybe it is okay that you are not currently locked up in a cell rotting away as you should be because it gives me a chance to teach you a lesson first."
James fist was first to connect with Caspian's arm. It was obvious James had been in a fight or two before, for he had aimed for the elbow of our favorite seafaring king. However, with Caspian's skills in not only hand-to-hand combat but also in swordsmanship, he was able to see this coming and moved enough so that it only hit his upper arm.
Caspian swung a fist toward James nose and the answer was a sickening crack. As blood oozed from James' nose, he let out a string of curses one would dare not to repeated.
"You B-!" He exclaimed, the comment directed to Caspian. He wildly started hitting Caspian, who was barely managing to block the punches thrown.
Suddenly, Caspian cast a glance over at Susan, who by this time was nervously watching then men fight. When he saw the look of worry and love for him, he knew he had to fight harder.
James had gotten sloppy by this time, thinking that he had won. Therefore he wasn't expecting when Caspian kicked him in the stomach. James fell to the floor with a loud thud.
"You will never touch my Susan again!" Caspian screamed as hit the man repeatedly. "It. Is. A. Crime, what you did to her, and I will make sure that John and Sara contact the authorities."
Both men had a black eye from the fight. Caspian was bruised mostly on his arms. James had most likely a concussion, a broken nose, and bruising on his face.
James was too weak to fight back so Caspian watched the man carefully until the authorities arrived and Susan could tell her story. And after what the officers said, they knew they wouldn't be seeing James for a while.
While Edmund seemed okay, both Lucy and Susan seemed shaken. However, Lucy was more worried about Susan to even notice that she too seemed shaken after watching the fight.
Caspian sat down with an eye pack on his eye. Even though he was experiencing tremendous amounts of pain, he still sat Susan on his lap so he could hold her in a tight embrace. Lucy once again got her sister a glass of water, although she really wished she had her cordial. Then not only could she calm Susan's nerves but she could also heal Caspian.
Susan snuggled into Caspian's strong arms. She buried her head into his shirt and fell asleep a few minutes later. Caspian soon fell asleep from exhaustion as well, and the sight of the two sleeping lovers was a cute one.
Lucy wished at that moment that they had camera's that were easy to carry, for if they did she would have taken a picture of the two. Lucy carefully removed the icepack out of Caspian's hands and dumped the remaining water down the sink.
"Hey Lucy," Edmund said. "Prehaps we should clean up the sitting room a bit."
Lucy nodded after taking a look around the room. There was blood on the floor and quite a few broken objects that had been knocked out of place by the tussle.
"We have to be quiet," Lucy whispered, motioning to the sleeping couple.
"Aw shucks! I thought was could wake them up," Edmund muttered sarcastically.
Lucy rolled her eyes and got to work scrubbing the floor and rug where blood had splattered. Edmund grabs a broom and swept up the floor. Between the two of them, the room was cleaned to a spotless look in forty five minutes.
"Should we wake them?" Edmund asked his younger sister.
"No, let them sleep. Peaceful dreams come to those who remain unwoken,"
-
"Well, that went better than I thought it would," Peter said relived.
"I wonder as to why Lucy would lead that man into what she knew would cause him harm. I know he was looking at her in ways he shouldn't but she could have just kicked him out," Tumnus wondered aloud, reminding quite a few people of his presence there.
"Well she must have know and thought the man deserved it. Which, of course, he did," Lord Diggory answered.
"Well I'm just glad this awful mess is sorted," Jill said with a slight readjustment of her hair.
"Can they come back now?" Eustace asked the great Lion.
"Eustace, that was only one of many tests I have for them. They are to be in for more than just that."
