When I-a turned 300, he threw a pretty decent party for-a me.
He-a invited Feliciano, which made me happy, and like I said before, don't-a tell him that.
He invited Seborga, the potato bastard for some-a reason, Prussia, and-a Austria.

We had cake in-a shape of a tomato, and pasta.
I almost hugged the tomato bastard for that, but I-a couldn't...
Could I?
It would definitely be-a weird.

Stupido tomato bastard....
Anyways.
After that not-a so bad party, I actually helped him clean up and then went to-a bed.
I carried my presents upstairs carefully, and looked through them.

Spain didn't get me anything!
Wait....Spain?! When have I started to-a call him Spain?!
The tomato bastard didn't get me anything!
Just when I-a was planning on going to-a shoot him, I heard a knock on my door.

I glared at it as I went to-a answer, and before I could even get a word out, he handed me a present and left.
I blink and looked down at the box.
It's-a not a big one, but it looks-a decent.

He decorated it with tomato wrapping paper and a big-a red bow.
Typical.
I close the door and walked-a back to my bed slowly, and I take the bow off first.
I set it aside and unwrapped it, not-a messily, just....gently.

I open up the box and my eyes-a widened.
It was a Romano flag.
I haven't-a seen this in years....
I took it out and my eyes-a begun to tear up.
I wiped them away furiously and I tied the flag around my-a neck.

I looked back down at the box and I find a little note.
I took it out an read it carefully;

Dear Romano,
I found this when I was looking for your birthday present.
I found it in good old Italy, so I instantly got it for-a you!
I'm glad you had a fun day.

From: Spain!

I sighed and put the note on my-a nightstand.
Why did he have to go to all the way to-a my country!
Stupid....
Now I have to-a get him something!

He's a true idiot...yet.... I guess I'm happy he did this...
I haven't seem my flag in years.
I blew out my candle and laid back in my bed.
I roll onto my side, and the last thing I saw was the note on my night side as I-a slowly fell asleep.
~
I ran around the house wearing my-a flag all day that day.
I remember the swoosh of the wind, the laughter of Spain as he-a watched me.
It was a really good day that-a day...

B-But that isn't the point!
Afterwards, I had-a fallen asleep on the couch, so he carried me from the couch to my bed.
I remember waking up the next morning, and freaked out for minute because I-a knew I slept on the couch!

Although, as soon as I pieced together what-a happened, and how-a the Tomato Bastard carried me, I felt...strangely calm.
I climbed out of my bed like nothing
happened.

~

The days went by like-a this, and soon the days turned into weeks, and months, then finally years.
Life was-a good.
It truly was.

I remember one day though, when I visited Feli, I felt a little....sad.
It was-a only a few days later when I-a figured out I missed Spain.
I-I mean the Tomato Bastard!!

Maybe it was only-a natural to miss him, I mean, he-a DID raise me ever since Grandpa Rome passed.
But...I don't give a damn now because I KNOW how this story is-a going to end, but I-a remember feeling like something else was-a there.

I didn't-a know anymore then, but something was-a gonna change.
And-a soon.
