Can You Understand? (1D fanfic)

Author's Note

Hello to my few readers. I would just like to thank you for reading my story by giving you an inside look in Hayley's mind. I have collected a bunch of questions my friends have asked me about Hayley's character, and I will present them to those who will enjoy reading about her. I know I don't have very many people reading, but for those who are, here you go!

1. How did this story idea come to you?

It just really popped in my head one day, and I decided that it would be a great fanfiction. So add in One Direction, and a teenager, and you've got a fanfic!

2. How did you decide the name of Hayley?

Well, I have a friend named Hayley, so I just picked a random name through my contacts list, and it so happened to be Hayley. Plus, I didn't want a stupid name like Kylie or...Darcy.

3. Why is Hayley going through such extreme life events?

I HATE perfect characters, so I "tampered" Hayley and gave her the flaws of stubbornness, bossiness, and overreactive-ness. The truth is, she's only going through what the average teen goes through in their life, but she's a bit sensitive and has the tendency to overreact. It's just in her personality.

4. Why did Shelby die in the first book?

I really wanted to send out a strong message to readers about the reality of superficial energy drinks like Monster and Red Bull. I'm not joking when I say those drinks have killed a lot of people. I treat them like alcoholic drinks, and never even consider trying any of them.

5. Why does Hayley have so many siblings? They all play sports too!

Everyone in MY family, including relatives and cousins, has either played, or is still playing sports. My oldest cousin is actually playing college soccer at the moment, so having many siblings that play sports ISN'T uncommon.

6. Why was Hayley spontaneously famous for her ice skating? How can she still be good if she is always on her job with the boys?

Hayley wasn't fully recognized as "famous" until she placed in one of her skate finals. The only reason she was a bit famous was mainly because of her link to the boys, and her older sister playing on the US national woman's soccer team. You see, she only receives a little attention from the press, which she is perfectly fine with. As for being a good skater, you have to realize, she doesn't spend 24/7 with the boys. She has to do school and obviously practice. Also, she doesn't narrate every second in her life. She still finds rinks to go to, even if she has to get a taxi across town and wake up early in the morning to practice. She does whatever it takes. Plus, you have to realize, a lot of the places the boys perform at are AREANAS, so there's usually a rink in the building somewhere.

7. I've gotten this question from a lot of people: Will Hayley realize that Harry likes her, and dump Dallas?

Hahahaha. She may, or she may not. That's for me to know, and you to find out. If I keep it that way, it keeps people on their toes. There should be an update soon explaining Harry's and Hayley's relationship with one and other.

8. Is Dallas a jerk?

NO! I don't know why people think Dallas is the bad guy. He is a rising star with good looks and of great quality, and the fact that his first kiss was with Hayley, (after the argument between him and Harry in the recording studio earlier) should make him seem more of a nice guy, and not a player.

9. So wait, everything that happened after the fire was just a dream?!

Sorry to say it but yes. However, don't feel like you got your hopes up for no reason. These key issues will come into play later. It's very important that you know what happens in Hayley's dream for upcoming chapters.

10. Will there be a sequel to this?

Yes, and by far, it will be the most emotional book in the series ever. Hayley becomes a senior, and has to decide between going to college, playing Olympic (Yes, I spoiled some of it, I DID say Olympic) sports, or staying with the band. Now THOSE are actual hard life-impacting choices. It will also be the final installment of the series.
