** The Next Day**

Loren
I walk out of my house and toward Ian's. Autumn spent the night there. 

"Hey!" She says opening the door.

 "Hey girl!" I say as Ian walks out. Autumn and I were wearing matching outfits. (Outfit above Autumn-Batman Loren- Superman)

 "Do you guys plan this?" Ian asks referring to our outfits. 

"Nope." I laugh as I admire our outfits.

"So I heard that Jacob came over yesterday," Ian says. I look at Autumn to see if she heard. 

"Are you guys a thing or something?" she asks quietly.

 "Not yet but we might be." I smile at the thought of us being together.

"Wow. Really you're gonna date him when you know I like him. What kind of friend are you?" She yells. 

"I wasn't going to say yes if he asked me out but you know what, now I just might because you are not the only person who likes him!" She just walks off with Ian following after her like a lost puppy. 

Autumn

"Autumn!!" Ian yells running after me. "Baby girl slow down!" He says. 

"This isn't a good time to hit on me," I groan in frustration.

"I'm not trying to hit on you," He says as he grabs my hand and forces me to look at him.

 "Really?" I say with sarcasm laced in my voice. 

"Yep. I'm not going to hit on you for the rest of the day." 

"Okay... That means no hugs, no holding hands, no calling me baby girl, no complimenting me. Hmm, I think I'm missing one. Oh yeah and no kissing me." I say smirking. 

"I can do that," He says. I take out my EOS and put some on. 

"Too bad. I just got this mint EOS. Mint your favorite," I smirk,  wrapping my arms around his neck. 

"I am not going to do it." He avoids eye contact. 

 "Okay... I'll go hit on someone else then," I say before walking away. He grabs me by the wrist and pulls me close. He connects our lips.

"Ha ha.. You lost... and I won," I boast once we pull away.  

"Whatever," He laughs as he puts his arm around my waist.  We continue walking until we finally make it to school. Jacob was standing at the front looking around with a frantic look on his face. 

"Hey Autumn, do you know where Loren is?" He asks as he walks over to me.  

"Don't know, don't care." I groan at the mention of her name. 

"What happened between you two?" He asks. 

"You happened Jacob." I sigh and walk past him.  He stops Ian. 

"Where is she?" he asks him. 

"I think she might have run home after their little fight." 

He mumbles a curse word under his breath before sprinting up the street and in the direction of Loren's house. 

Loren

I grab my razor and place it on my left wrist, I do one for being stupid, two for believing I had a chance, three for losing her as a friend. I went to do another one when the door burst open.

 "Loren!" Jacob screams.

 "I can't do this anymore," I mumble before falling on the floor and wrapping my arms around my knee as I rocked back and forth and cried.

"It's okay baby girl. You can do it! You are strong! You can make it through this!" he says. His motivational words make me want to vomit. I couldn't do it. I won't ever be able to do it. 

"No, I can't Jacob. I can't do it anymore! I can't take the pain! I can't live anymore." I choke on my words.  

"I just wanted to ask you something," He mumbles as he looks down at me. 

"What?" I ask. 

"Can we get through this together? You know as a couple. You being my girlfriend." I don't say anything I just stare at him with wide eyes. 

"But Ariel." I say. 

"I broke up with her earlier. I want to be with you! I want you." He smiles slightly. 

"I can't promise I'll make it easy. I can't promise that this won't happen again. I can't promise I won't do something stupid. But I can promise that I will try my hardest not to fuck this up. Yes, Jacob. I will be your girlfriend." I try to choke back my tears. He kisses my forehead.

"I should probably clean this up," I mumble as I look down at the blood dripping from the 3 lines on my wrist. I take a rag and clean my wrist. Then I take a few band-aids and put them on. When I finish, Jacob follows me into my bedroom. I sit on my bed as he looks around. He picks up a photo of me and my parents.  

"That was taken the day before they died," I mumble. I've become numb to the topic of my parents. 

"You were so young," he says. 

"7 years old," I tell him.

 "Come here baby girl." He pulls me into a hug.  

"Shit we have to go to school!" I groan as I grab his hand and practically drag him out the house. 

"Jacob... If I'm late I will slit your throat!" I joke as he tries to slow me down. 

"Okay fine... I was going to let you jump on my back and have me run so you aren't all sweaty but whatever." I stop in my tracks. I jump on his back and he takes off.

Ian

Autumn and I walk into English together and sit down. Loren wasn't here yet. I begin to worry until Autumn asks what's wrong.

 "Loren," I mumble. 

"Don't tell me you like her," She says with fear in her eyes.  What the hell. Me liking Loren? Never. She is my best friend.

 "I don't. I like one person and that is it." 

"I bet she's pretty," She says rolling her eyes. 

"Very pretty," I smile.

"Awwww," She giggles.

"I never said it was you," I say. She puts her hand over her heart acting offended. 

"But it is you," I say. She pulls me into a hug. A girl walks up to us. I think her name is Kayla. 

"Are you guys dating?" She asks pointing to me and Autumn. 

"No," Autumn says. 

"Oh, cause I saw you guys kiss in the front of the school and then you just hugged. I just wanted to know if I could put you as 'Cutest Couple' for the yearbook."

"I wanna be in the yearbook!" She says. 

"Fine. Autumn will you be mine?" I ask looking her in the eye. 

"Sure... now when do you take the picture?" She says. 

"Oh, if I'm going to be used just for a picture then consider us over," I say looking offended. 

"I'm not using you. I'm kidding. I like you.  I just want to be the cutest couple," She says. I laugh and look at her.
