Autumn

I walk away from Ian.

 "AUTUMN!" He yells. 

"No! I'm not in the mood." I say walking into the bathroom. I go by the sink and look in the mirror. "I'M SO UGLY!!" I yell at my reflection. 

 "Autumn." He says. I ignore him. 

"Stop discouraging yourself. You're beautiful!" He says. 

"Stop lying." I say. 

"Come out please!" He says. I give up and walk out. 

"There's my beautiful girl!!" He says smiling. He wipes the tears from my eyes. 

"I love you." I say. 

"I love you too." He says pecking my lips. We walk to our next class which we are late for but the teacher never cares. 

"Miss. Niano, Mr. Nieves. You're late." A familiar voice says. It wasn't our teacher. 

"Mrs. Biggerstaff." Ian whispers. Mrs. Biggerstaff is one of the most popular substitutes we have. She subs for us all the time. 

"That's a detention!" She says with the pages already filled out. 

"NO!! That is going to ruin my record!!" I say about to cry again. 

"Shh.I got this." Ian says trying to calm me. 

"It's my fault she's late. I wanted to take the long way and she said we didn't have enough time but I didn't listen. If you're going to write anyone up let it be me." He says. 

"Fine. But only this time will it slip." She says with a smile. Mrs. Biggerstaff loves me. Not to brag or anything. My mom was best friends with her as we were young. "Thank you." I mouth to her. I give Ian a hug and kiss his cheek. 

"Okay. Please sit down. Ian I am going to let you slide because I'm pretty sure it was an accident." I sit down next to Jacob since it was my assigned seat. Yeah I did have a seat next to him. Yes this is the class I sleep in. But I doubt he notices. 

"Hey Autumn." He says with a smile. 

"Hi Jacob." I say. I guess my crush on him wore done. What am I saying.. I like him. Forever and always. 

"So.. I need help." He says looking at me with hopeful eyes. 

"With what? Homework?" I ask. 

"No. Wait yeah.. But its Loren. She's depressed and I want to help her through it. Any ideas how to help?" He says. 

"First, you can come over today if you want and I'll help you with the homework. And there is nothing you can do to help Loren. Trust me I've tried. It's helpless." I say looking down. She's been depressed since her parents died. But I'm sure that's not the full reason. There has to be something else. 

"Okay. I'll see you after school then." He says with a smile. He side hugs me. I get crazy butterflies in my stomach.

Jacob

After I hugged Autumn my stomach went crazy. I tried to just ignore it but I couldn't. What's wrong with me? 

"I'll wait for you by your locker." I tell her. 

"Okay." She says all cool and collected. The bell rings and we all get up.

*Skips to the end of the day*

I walk to Autumn's locker. 

"Hey." I say with a smile. I can't help smiling around her. 

"Hey loser." She says with a laugh. 

"I'm not a loser." I say punching her arm. 

"I'm going to ditch you if you don't stop." She says laughing. 

"Okay fine." I say with a laugh. She pulls a skateboard out of her locker and slams her locker. I had a skateboard to cause well duh. 

"You ride?" I ask. 

"No, I keep a skateboard in my locker to admire it." She says laughing. 

"Okay Miss. Sarcastic." I say with a laugh. We walk out the school together. 

"Eww!!" Ariel says laughing and pointing at Autumn. 

"Ariel shut up and eww yourself." I say. 

"Where did your taste go?" She asks. 

"I'm not dating Autumn. I'm going to hang out with her." I say. 

"Whatever."

God she gets on my nerves. 

"Who Ariel?" She asks. 

"I said that out loud?" I ask. 

"Yep." She says with a laugh. 

"Oh. Well yeah." We continue our walk when we are stopped by people calling our names.
