Kuranosuke continued typing on his laptop. The periodic tap tap tapping of the keys became soothing background noise to Tsukimi as she focused on her professor's lecture. It wasn't hard to focus on him. Koizumi sensei was probably one of the most beautiful men Tsukimi had ever seen in real life. Well, she saw him on her computer screen nearly every night so maybe not real life but still.
Koizumi had attempted to become a fashion designer himself but his flaw was that he couldn't create designs for the masses. He could merely focus on the designs he specifically liked. So that was always a point he tried to get across in his lectures. That specific point hit home for Tsukimi which is why not all of her designs lately looked jellyfish related.
Tsukimi found herself focusing heavily on Koizumi's light blue eyes. They were quite lovely. But they seemed off in color and didn't quite suit his face. For a brief moment Tsukimi had pulled up a mental comparison between Koizumi and Kuranosuke. She didn't really realize she had done so but the comparison mentally had her acknowledging that she preferred Kuranosuke's purple irises to Koizumi's blue. It was something about the quality, like Kuranosuke's seemed more real to her. There was something off about Koizumi's color. "Perhaps their contacts."
"Perhaps what are contacts?"
Tsukimi froze momentarily. She didn't realize she had spoken the words aloud and honestly she tended to zone and forget that Kuranosuke was there. No, forget wasn't quite the right way to phrase it. She became lulled into his companionship and it became second nature to work around him would probably be more accurate.
Kuranosuke peered over Tsukimi's shoulder. It didn't take him long to realize what she was referring to. He gritted his teeth in annoyance. "Yes, your professor wears colored contacts. His blue hair is dyed also, in case you were wondering that."
Tsukimi became momentarily confused by the venom conveyed in Kuranosuke's voice. She touched his arm and looked up at where he stood. "Hey, are you alright?"
Kuranosuke's jealousy immediately ebbed away. Tsukimi was touching him, of her own accord. This was a mere concerned friend action, but it was progress right? He couldn't answer in words because mentally he was dancing with joy so he merely nodded at her.
"By the way, I'm sorry if I bothered you while you were concentrating on the fliers. I didn't really mean to think aloud." The concern that filled her voice touched Kuranouske's heart.
Kuranosuke wanted to know why she became distracted and voiced her thoughts aloud. He had to figure out a way to ask what Tsukimi had been thinking about. "I'm surprised you noticed a detail like that. I mean that his eye color may be fake."
Tsukimi shrugged. "Honestly, I was just thinking they were a pretty color. But they didn't quite seem right. I can't verbally put my finger on the reason."
"It was probably something regarding the color. I mean those are an unusual blue for eyes. It's good that you noticed it though color study is pretty key in our future ventures."
"Your eyes are also an unusual color too you know?" It wasn't really a question but worded as one. "But, your purple is 100% natural."
Kuranosuke became distracted by the fact that she had noticed his eyes. If she found him attractive that was another push in the right direction.
Kuranosuke let the conversation dwindle as Tsukimi once again became engrossed in her professor's lecture. The male on her screen still intimidated the crap out of him. But, perhaps knowing how fake he was would keep her from falling for the guy.
An hour later and the class should have been over. But Tsukimi was still staring into her screen at her professor. Kuranosuke tried his best to wait patiently but his patience was running thin for this fashion cassanova. During the hour that passed Kuranosuke started paying more attention to Tsukimi's screen. The man had obviously done some modeling because he knew how to make love to the camera. This professor's actions weren't always scholarly and it soured Kuranosuke's mood exponentially.
"No, Saturday mornings I'm taking a sewing class. So that's not good for me. Next Sunday? Yeah I can make that work out. Thank you Koizumi sensei."
Tsukimi closed her virtual class program and turned back to Kuranosuke. "What's Sunday?"
"Koizumi sensei wants to meet each of his class members outside of class to go over our sketches and designs."
Okay so that was a logical reason. But on a Sunday? That seemed a bit off to Kuranosuke. He gritted his teeth as his hatred for the fashion cassanova grew.
"Oh he knows about our goal and would like you to come along also, Kuranosuke."
Hmm, okay so maybe his intent was sincere. Or maybe the fashion cassanova didn't have a personal preference on gender. That didn't really sit well with Kuranosuke either. He expected to get hit on by men also, especially in drag. He even rehearsed a great way to get men to back off. But now things felt different. He wasn't in a relationship per say but it was beginning to feel like one.
That feeling was becoming something he personally was rejoicing in but also learning how to deal with. He hadn't really been in the position of caring for someone so much. Plus with Tsukimi's shyness and personality he found himself adjusting how he would proceed to flaunt his affections towards her. He couldn't flirt with her like any other girl. Tsukimi was more of a challenge then that. That challenge itself called to him. He didn't want to think of his feelings for her as a game. But in a sense it did feel that way. It was like a game of chess. Kuranosuke would have to plan each move delicately but also make predictions on how Tsukimi would react to each move and counteract in turn.
In reality Kuranosuke found chess boring. But Tsukimi chess was becoming his favorite past time.
Tsukimi poked at Kuranosuke's shoulder. He hadn't said anything in quite awhile.
"Hmm?" Kuranosuke turned to look at her. His shoulder burned a bit where she had touched him and that burn seeped into his soul.
"Show me what you have so far on the flier."
Kuranosuke realized he had been lost in his train of thought and shook the cloud from his brain. He opened his laptop and awaited through Tsukimi's perusal over his work. She tugged at her lower lip in concentration, which of course in turn made his concentration take on a different subject matter entirely. Perhaps he would give into the dream's temptations tonight.
Author's Note: I don't know that I would consider this story a crossover. That being said though Koizumi is from another anime called Paradise Kiss. Although is probably more known as George. If you know the anime you definitely recognized his picture above. :)
