Things felt different when Kuranosuke woke up the following day. He got very little sleep the night before because his mind kept turning to the make out session they had on the couch. As it stood right now that couch was currently his favorite piece of furniture in the whole apartment. He groaned as mental images came flooding back. He pulled himself out of bed and decided to do something more constructive. He had plans in place for later on in the day but perhaps he could begin the day by making breakfast.

He mentally planned out the meal. Truthfully when it came to breakfast he preferred to eat a more western style cuisine but he knew that Tsukimi, herself, preferred a traditional Japanese breakfast. He hoped that she might think it romantic of him to take her likes into consideration. He began by preparing rice and putting it in the rice cooker before assembling the rest of the meal. He grabbed a large pot and two skillets.

In the pot he added dashi soup stock, because he knew it would take awhile to boil. He began chopping tofu, that would be added to the stock, into small cubes. Then he finely chopped green onion that would be added as a finishing touch to the miso soup. The stock still had yet to come to even a simmer at this point so he added canola oil to both of the skillets.

In one skillet he would be grilling shishamo. It was a pretty simple procedure to grill the fish so he wasn't worried. Truthfully, it was mostly just making sure the small fish didn't overcook that was the true concern when it came to cooking the fish.

He turned his attention to the other skillet and frowned at it. He had yet to perfect the art of making proper tamogayaki, so instead of making the omelet he decided to simplify things by making scrambled eggs instead. They always ended up scrambled in the long run for him anyways so might as well skip the difficult steps. He got out a mixing bowl, took out the carton of eggs from the fridge, and he pulled out a smaller bowl to ladle some of the stock into. He cracked five eggs and added them to the bowl. He poured the stock into the mixture. Then he grabbed a set of chopsticks and began whisking them together.

By the time this was all set up to go the stock had finally began boiling. So he took the same bowl he ladled stock into, and ladled another spoonful portion. He added piso paste and began whisking it together with chopsticks. This was the moment he heard the other bedroom door open.

Tsukimi pandered into the hallway sluggishly. She stopped in her trek to let out a yawn and stretch her arms above her. At the action her shirt crept up on her body revealing a small bare patch of ivory skin. Kuranosuke realized that now that things had changed between the two he could react differently. He promptly put the bowl he had in his hands down on the counter. His fingers were itching to stroke her sides that had been exposed by the brief display. Instead, he settled for wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her toward him. His lips capturing hers in a crushing heated kiss. Once he released her he looked at Tsukimi with half lidded eyes. Her own were wide in surprise. Then he felt her lift a small fist to his shoulder. "Hey! I haven't even brushed my teeth yet!"

He chuckled at her retaliation. "Two things, one I don't care if you haven't brushed your teeth. Two, you looked too cute stretching like that. I couldn't resist saying good morning to you like a normal couple would." He released her to turn back to the kitchen.

"Oh? Is that what we are? A couple?" Kuranosuke momentarily became a bit frightened. He naturally assumed that was the way they were progressing. Was he scaring her? He turned to look back at her face and only noted she looked confused and curious.

"I hope so. But perhaps I should let you make that call. Tsukimi, I know we have yet to have a proper date. Honestly, in all the little things we have been doing as friends I have already begun to see a romantic relationship blossoming. If you want to wait that's fine. But, I will ask you now. Would you like to evolve our friendship into something more? Would you like for us to maybe...actually...become a romantic couple?"
