The next evening found Tsukimi and Kuranosuke at the train station saying goodbye to her father. Tsukimi was pulled into Otojiro's arms in a crushing hug that squeezed the breath out of her. "Dad—" she gasped in a big gulp of air. "Too tight."

"Oops, sorry. It's just I know how much I am going to miss you again when I am back home all alone." Almost a year he had lived on his own and during that time his little house had felt exceptionally empty those months that went by. Heck he hadn't even gotten used to the silence until a couple of months ago. Now he feared he would have to get used to it all over again after spending some time with her in her new setting.

He looked over at Kuranosuke and the conversation they had the previous day had entered his mind. He smiled and nodded at the young man. "Please, look after my daughter."

Kuranosuke smiled broadly. "You know I will." He clasped Otojiro's hand in a firm grip. The two males nodded and Otojiro turned to step onto his train.

Tsukimi waved goodbye to her father until the train was out of sight. Once she could no longer spot his train in the distance tears began to fall from her eyes. "Tsukimi, let's have our own hot pot party tonight. Just you and me."

Tsukimi dried the corners of her eyes and arched an eyebrow up at Kuranosuke. "But, we just had a hot pot party last night. Why would you want to have another one so soon?"

He pulled her closer to him and wrapped his arms around her waist. Once her body was flush against his he had to take a calming breath at the sensations he felt pinprick all over his body. Then he sighed and answered her question. "I know what those hot pot parties mean to you. I know while you just said goodbye to your father on the train that you weren't quite ready to say goodbye at all. I mean a whole day spent together is practically no time at all in the grand scheme of things. So in it's own way I figured in your mind you could spend more time with him while we have our own hot pot party at home."

"But, we don't even have an electric hot pot. Nor, do we have any of the ingredients at home."

"That's easily resolved. I happened to notice that the grocery store also sells the electric hot pots. Plus, this way when we make it we can stick to what we like to eat."

"I still want chrysanthemum." Tsukimi watched as Kuranosuke's nose wrinkled and twitched at the suggestion. She couldn't help but laugh. "Plus, I did tell you that I like it all that first hot pot party together."

Kuranosuke let out what resembled a wounded sigh to onlookers. But Tsukimi just chuckled at the reaction since she knew it was just him being melodramatic and silly.

Later that night the two were trying to find a good place for the hot pot skillet. The original plan was to put it on the coffee table and cook from there. The trouble was that the cord on it didn't reach that far, and they didn't have an extension cord. So the only other logical place they had to put it was on the kitchen counter near the sink.
