The following week kind of passed them both by in a blur. The fliers were emailed out early on in the week and the two had not heard a single thing from any of Tsukimi's classmates. Zip. Zilch. Nada. It was concerning both of them. Kuranosuke did his best not to show his concern, the last thing he wanted to do was upset Tsukimi.
"You know a week really isn't all that much time, Tsukimi. I know if it were me I would want to think it over first." Kuranosuke took the opportunity to reassure her instead. The problem was, in all honesty, not getting a single email, even to simply ask questions about the flier was concerning. Heck, they should have at least got the crazy loons that were at the bottom of the class to reply. There literally was nothing in her school email inbox regarding the flier.
It was the morning they were going to meet Tsukimi's professor. It was obvious that Tsukimi attempted to take care with her appearance. She still didn't have much fashion sense when it came to her own wardrobe. The colors of the outfit consisted of muted nude tones, ivory, and black. She could have at least spiced up the outfit with a bright splash of color. Kuranosuke specifically thought that varying shades of fuchsia, magenta, and burgundy went well with the paleness of her skin. Of course getting Kuranosuke to add said shades of color to her wardrobe proved to be fruitless.
Part of Kuranosuke was confused about the clothing she was wearing. Why would she pick to somewhat dress up for a college professor. Did the girl have an unvoiced attraction for the guy? College professor and student? How cliché! He found himself rolling his eyes and fighting down the seething jealousy that burnt in his gut.
Kuranosuke nearly said something cold like. 'I can't believe you are wearing a skirt.' Somehow he managed to choke the words back before they formed on his tongue. That definitely was no way to shower the girl he was crushing on with affection. So instead he cleared his throat and smiled down at her. "You look really nice today, Tsukimi." The compliment felt like he had consumed a bunch of sand. It in no way reflected how pretty she looked to him. He didn't feel he could color the compliment with more affection then he already gave it though. It just felt like he would stretch the compliment too far for her ears if he did.
A pleased blush stained Tsukimi's cheeks, and he knew that he had been right with his instinct to not overstate things. She smiled up at him shyly. "Thank you, Kuranosuke. I know you probably think that I should have added a splash of color." She rolled her eyes, looked down at her feet and stubbed her toe nervously against the ground underneath her. "But in all honesty I just am not ready to be that adventurous with my own clothes."
The fact that she knew what Kuranosuke was thinking said volumes. Even if it were only for fashion sake. It would improve how she went to style future designs. Of course Kuranosuke hoped that it was more then that. He hoped she was just getting to know those little things about his personality.
Tsukimi hugged her portfolio to her chest. "I'm honestly nervous about what Koizumi sensei will think of my designs."
Kuranosuke sighed. "I don't see how he could begin to dislike any of them. You have grown exponentially with your designs. You not only have a great eye for shape but you have become quite adventurous with your color palettes."
