chapter seven(scarlett)

My eyes flutter open slightly, the bright rays coming through my white curtains seem to blind me.

I hear shuffling across the room, like I'm not the only person in here.

I turn my body, feeling my bare skin on my soft comforter. I see Ross lying next to me, also naked.

Then I see Vanessa in the room. She is dressed in her regular work attire. She walks over to my bed and shakes Ross from his sleep.

He groans, we look at each other at the same moment. Both our eyes grow wide once we come to the realization what last nights events consisted of.

"What the hell?" I say, pulling the sheets up to cover my cleavage. (Not that it really matters at this point, anyways.)

"Yep, we did." Is what he says, a smirk plastered on his face.

"Why would you let that happen? You were the sober one! What about.. Ethan! Courtney!" I try to keep my voice to a minimum.

"Courtney is out there, I'm pretty sure she's asleep on the couch. And Ethan..." He trails off.

"What about Ethan?" The attitude is evident in my voice.

"You guys broke up last night." He says, looking at me with eyes full of sympathy, but also passion.

"What?" I breathe, my voice delicate.

I immediately grab my phone from my nightstand.

I press the home button, praying to see the regular 'ethan❣' with the regular good morning text underneath his name. But instead, a text from Rydel asking me what happened between Ross and I after she left.

"I'm sorry, Scarlett. I know I shouldn't have let it happen... it's just... I couldn't help myself!" He says, clearly frustrated with himself.

He rubs my back with his hand, I get a warm shock through my body when his skin touches mine.

Then all of my memories come back, I've really always wanted this. But, I didn't realize how hard it would be to let Ethan go.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean? Actually no, just go to the living room and wake Courtney, we will talk about this later." I respond, he gets up and starts dressing himself.

I might as well just go back to sleep. I roll over on my side and get comfortable again.

I lay there for 10 minuets, wide awake. How could I sleep when my boyfriend and I broke up last night, but I also had sex with my crush? I did love Ross a little more, and I feel so bad for saying that because it's so terrible. I wonder how Ethan is taking this. Is he upset?

I hear Courtney's voice coming from the living room and a wave of guilt instantly washes over me. She is my bestfriend... how could I do that to her?

And I'm not really sure what Ross meant by "I couldn't help myself." Then that also hits me like a train. Ethan and I on the balcony. He said Ross confessed to him that he had feelings for me. Ross is with Courtney... just because I chose him doesn't mean he will choose me.

I hear footsteps approaching my room and I quickly shut my eyes again.

"Scar! Rise n' shine! Your lucky that you got to sleep on a bed last night." Courtney cheerful voice fills my quiet room.

"Well, this is my bed after all." I chuckle, my face still in my pillow.

I sit up and swing my legs over the bed and I look down to see that I am still naked.

"Oops.." I giggle as Courtney had a confused expression at first.

"Ooo... who else was lucky enough to be in your bed last night too?" She smirks.

"Honestly I don't think anyone, but I don't know how I ended up like this." I lie.

I get up and go to my closet and pull out a over sized t-shirt then slip it on.

I walk into the kitchen to get a banana and Ross is also in there.

"So, how did you play it off?" I ask while cutting the banana into slices.

"She thinks I slept on Vanessa's floor." He replies.

"Okay good. Because when she woke me up I was still naked so I had to make up something." I say and looking up at him.

All he does is smirk then walk out with a bowl of cereal in his hands. I can't help but watch him... he is in nothing but loose fitting sweatpants. They clinging onto his lower hips, revealing his perfectly defined v-line.

When I'm done preparing my food I go into my bedroom to get my phone. I have a text from Vanessa that reads "So Ross was in your bed. What the hell happened?" I reply with, "Not quite sure, I will explain when you get home."

I get out of my room and go to the living room with the rest of my friends.

The rest of the day our day we just laid around, being our hung-over selves. We watched a lot of movies and ate a lot of food. It was about 6 o'clock when Courtney told Ross she was ready to go home.

"I'll be back." Ross whispered in my ear before walking out the door.

They were the last ones to leave so now the apartment was empty.

30 mins later

I hear a knock on the door then get up to answer it.

I open the door and Ross is standing there. He immediately lunges forward and grabs my cheeks then kisses me. I kiss back for a few seconds before realizing we shouldn't be kissing right now.

"Ross, you are here is talk not to make out." I say after I pull back.

"Eh, maybe a little bit of both." He chuckles. I can't help but smile right now.

I grab his hand and lead him to the couch.

"So, explain yourself." I bluntly say.

"What do you mean?" He smiles.

"Why did you let me have sex with you?" I question.

"Why wouldn't I... I've wanted to for a while." He says.

"Okay, but your with Courtney and that's my bestfriend." My eyebrows furrow.

"Yea.."

"So.."

"So.."

The awkwardness continues on.

"For god sakes Ross, me or Courtney?" I ask, I'm tired of dodging the question.

"You." He says without hesitation.
