My hand hit the alarm clock before it could scream any longer.
It was early. Too early that I could only just stare at the ceiling above.
Luke was meeting me today to help me find a job after sharing my concern. It was kind of him.
I tie my hair in a bun and change into some jeans and a jumper. I grab my phone and jog downstairs in order to stuff some food down me.
The TV was on in the living room, and the thought of him agitated me. Especially after last night.
When I finally left to see Luke, I found him standing smiling.
"Hi Ariana," he smiles, pulling me into a hug.
"Hi Luke," I greet.
"How are you feeling?" He says.
"I'm dreading it," I moan. "I feel like I won't find much."
"Well," he smirks.
"What?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"So what's your opinion on waitressing?" He asks.
"Yeah that'd be good." I shrug.
"I was talking to a mate of mine, his dad owns the restaurant up the street from here. I was mentioning you and the guy goes onto say there was vacancy there! What are the chances. He said he'd prioritise you for it, just as a favour."
My mouth drops.
"Oh Luke, thank you. thank you so much." I smile. "And thank you to your friend."
I pull him into a hug and kiss his cheek as he chuckles.
"Let's go there then," he smiles. "He'll probably just want to interview you a bit still, it should be fine though."
"That's fine." I smile.
*One week had passed and I could proudly say I had a job. I ended up speaking to the own himself there. He spoke to Luke and I and we all got a long easily. It made me feel at ease. I couldn't thank both of them enough for deciding to take me on.
I clutched onto my bag, heading towards the door before hearing a voice.
"Where are you going every morning." Harry calls from the living room.
His voice blunt.
I stop in my tracks, jumping at the sound of his voice.
"Work," I shout back and leave.
*
"Hope you enjoy," I smile as I hand the food to the couple.
They return a smile and I leave and begin to clean up. I hear the door open knowing another customer had entered despite the restaurant closing in half an hour. I could hear myself sigh in my head. Once I thought I had given enough time for the costumer to order I walked over to what looked like a couple.
"Are you guys ready for me to take your order," I smile, clutching hold of my notepad and pen.
I look at my notebook and then to the faces of the male and female.
I stop. My breathing seeming as it stopped with me.
"Oh hi," Harry smirks. "Yeah we're ready."
We were sat there staring at each other, my mouth couldn't remain closed.
"You know her?"
The girl sniggers as she sat across from the table. I looked at her and raise an eyebrow. And I really thought things couldn't get worse.
Why was he doing this? But it was him. Who would expect anything better from the likes of him.
I ignored the rude taunts from the girl and listened to their order.
"Coming right up," I fake smile and walk over to get the counter.
I wanted to cry, I did. I wanted to shout at him. I could feel the anger boiling inside of me. He's nothing but selfish.
When time came to hand over their food, I refused to look at either of them, neither speak. I couldn't.
I return to the counter, emotionally drained.
"Ariana?"
I groan thinking it was Harry.
"Luke?" I grin.
"I thought I'd come by now since there wasn't too long left until you get off." He smiles as we hug.
In the corner of my eye, I could hear the chatters from that girl but I knew Harry's attention was on us.
As we break apart, Luke's arms remained around my waist as we both looked at each other for a moment. Before I could stop myself, I found my lips on his.
