The untold story of a young girls life throughout a war that was forgotten through time. Based in 1875 in London.
"Miss it's time to get up".
Elizabeth rolled onto her side and found herself looking directly into the sunlight streaming
through her window. "What time is it?" she asked as she sat herself up.
"Just after 7 miss," her maid, Lily, replied with her usual bright tone. Elizabeth got up with an
exaggerated sigh. "I honestly don't understand how you are so bright at this time in the morning
and how many times must I tell you to call me Elizabeth or Liz not miss," Elizabeth said in a matter
of fact tone. "I am just a morning person and I'm your maid, calling you by your given name would
be wrong," Lily replied kindly. Elizabeth just sighed and got herself ready to get dressed. Elizabeth
leaned against the bed post as Lily started tightening her corset. She sucked in her breath as she
felt the familiar yet painful tightness. Being a girl meant having to look good. Lily then helped her
into her dress. Once again she felt like she had a 20 kg weight on her. Today her dress was blue

Elizabeth said. Lily gave her a loving smile and replied, "Looks aren't everything miss and one day
you will make a fine wife and mother, but I have a feeling you will do something great some day for
you are not like normal girls, but don't think that that's a bad thing".
"Thanks Lily but I'm just one girl in a world full of other girls," Elizabeth said.
After getting ready and having a chat with Lily, Elizabeth made her way down to breakfast. "Good
morning Elizabeth darling," her Mother's voice came through the dining room. Her Mother sat at
her normal chair right next to her Father. She smiled and sat down as her other maid, Annie, came
in with her breakfast. She finished her breakfast and felt satisfyingly full. " I am done thank you
Annie. Mum Dad I am going for a walk," Elizabeth told her parents and she grabbed her coat from
the front door. " Elizabeth please be carful sweetheart, you know how dangerous the streets can be
for a young girl, " her dad said in response. " yes dad I will plus I am not so young now," Elizabeth
replied as she walked out the door. As soon as she stepped out she felt the sharp cold of the wind.
She pulled her coat tight around her as she began walking to the park. She looked up at the sky and
saw grey clouds meaning it would rain soon. She reached the park and sat on the bench that looked
out over the river. She thought of all the hours she had spent here. It gave her time to think about
anything and everything. She remembered the times when she was little and her mum used to take
