James looked up at his uncle. He sighs. " Marcus what is going on?" He asks. Marcus looks at him.

His eyes are sad and his face looks as though he hasn't slept in days. " The town I was living in was

the one that threatened war on you. I thought that if I got to know you and your father I would be

able to stay with you so I wouldn't have to be in that town." James looks at the floor taking it all in.

" this is stupid. You are my uncle they can't do this," James says growing angry. The sound of

approaching footsteps interrupts them. Mr Hilt walks in. " it is time for your judgment to be

made," he says plainly. Two guards unlock the door to the cells of James and Marcus and escorts

them. The walk up all the flights of steps. James's mind flying around with all different thoughts.

Marcus on the other hand could only think of the guilt he felt for having put his nephew through

this. The finally reach the top and Marcus and James blink a few times as they haven't seen

sunlight in a few days. They walk through the building to another room. This one was filled with

one other person. The judge. James gulped as he was having difficulty breathing. The were

expected to two chairs in the middle of the room. As they sat down James looked at Marcus.

Marcus held out his hand and James took it. He believed that Marcus was not evil and was just

trying to find his family. The judge starts talking.

They are about 5 minutes into the judgment when the door bangs open. James looks up surprised

and is even more surprised by what he sees. Standing in the doorway with her hair all messy from

running is Elizabeth. She strides into the room and stops in front of the judge. The judge looks

confused yet angry. " What business does a young girl have here," he asks sternly. She looks him

sternly in the eye and says," I am here to defend these two people. Do not bother denying it I

couldn't give a damn about your stupid rules." The judge looks horrified but she goes on," These

two were caught seeing each other outside of this town but there is no proof that any law has been

broken. Marcus is in fact James's uncle and therefor they have a good reason to be seeing each

other. Yes information has been given to the enemy but there is absolutely no proof at all that it

was James. Also James is fighting for this town and it would be a ridiculous reason for him to give

away information like that. Did I also mention that the law in fact states that until someone is

proven guilty they can't actually be held in prison and denied any contact with his or her family."

The judge looks shocked. James smiles and Elizabeth looks pleases with herself. Marcus smiles

knowing at least something in his nephews life was good. The judge finally seems to recover. " This

is appalling. You can't just march in here and start talking," he says sternly. Elizabeth just laughs.

" Well no I can't but look I have and I do make good a good case don't i? Also it's not entirely fare

to have a trial if there is no one to defend them so therefor I am here to defend them," she says

plainly like she is reciting something she has been practicing. The judge considers this for a

moment. After a while he sighs and says," fine. Your points are good and there is no real proof here

so by law Marcus Hilt and James Wright you are clear of all charges." Elizabeth smiles and looks at

James. He runs over to her and picks her up and spins her around. She laughs. " you are amazing. I

can never repay you for this," he says once he has put here down. Marcus walks over to them.

" Thank you Miss Carter. I will be forever thankful for this," he says with all his heart. She smiles at

him. " Do not worry. You are James's family and that is enough for me to help you," she replies.

They make there way out of the building where James's parents wait. When James's mum sees him

she runs over and gives him a big hug. Tears are coming down her face and Elizabeth knew that

she did the right thing no matter what the punishment. Mr hilts storms out of the building. " what

is the means of this," he spits. Elizabeth smile. " I just freed your prisoners." She turn around to

walk away but he puts his hand on her shoulder and whisper," that is two things i will punish you

for. You were going to be punished today but now I will make you wait, make you dread ever day."

She looks at him and realises something. His face is older, he looks stressed and he looks evil.

There was something going on that she was going to soon find out about. She walks away with the

image of him in her head. James runs after her. " Elizabeth wait," he says as he runs to her. She

turns around her he nearly runs into her. She smiles. " So me wright. What's it like being a free

man?" She asks. He doesn't reply but instead kisses her. They pull apart after a few seconds. " Well

if that's any indication I would say it's pretty good," James says and walks back to his family.

Elizabeth watches him leave and smiles. She walks back to her house where her family would be

waiting for her.

When she gets home her mother, father and lily are all waiting for her. Her mothers face shows

concern. Her father is trying his best to hide it and lily is plainly trying not to think of it. When she

walks in her mother runs and hugs her. " oh thank god your ok," she says as she looks her up and

down to make sure nothing happened. Elizabeth laughs. " I'm fine. Everything went according to

plan." Lily let's out a sigh of relief and her mother lets tears of joy run down her face. Her father

walks over to her and gives her a big hug. " I am so proud to call you my daughter," he says to her.

Elizabeth starts to cry and hugs her dad even more.

They spend the rest of the day and night with each other taking in as much as they can knowing

that any day now everything will fall apart.
