RASHEL:

‘Get up, get up, get up, get up, get up…’ I heard someone shouting and jumping on my comfy bed. By someone I absolutely mean Zachary David Anderson. Zach had this habit of waking me up every morning by jumping on my bed. That boy was definitely a morning person while I was the exact opposite. He was too damn energetic in the morning. God knows how he managed it. It probably has to be his caffeine fix. I didn’t want to get up today, I was still sleepy. I had sneaked out last night because I was feeling especially down because of that heart to heart with Zach. Zach was soundly sleeping when I snuck out at 11:30 pm. I had returned at 2:30 in the morning, quite drunk if I might add. I had a headache which wasn’t impossible to deal with because I had gotten used to the hangovers. I never remembered anything after drinking which is probably the reason I only remembered sneaking out of some guy’s bed and not the guy himself.

I quickly did the math in my head and realized that today was Saturday, which means no classes. Why the hell was Zach waking me up? He perfectly knew that I slept till noon during the weekend.

‘Zachary David Anderson?’ I called out in my raspy morning voice.

‘Rashel Alexia Davis?’ Zach said, mocking me.

‘What the fuck is wrong with you? It’s Saturday!’ I groaned and pulled the sheets over my head.

‘No, it’s not. It’s Friday.’ He stated and I felt myself waking up a bit. I did the math again when I realized that I totally sucked at it in the morning. Ok, who am I kidding? I suck at it all the time.

‘Seriously?’ I asked.

‘Seriously.’ Zach said.

I slowly got up from the bed, ignoring the pounding in my head, slipping my feet in my flip-flops as I made my way to my bathroom. Zach, as usual, was completely dressed in his blue jeans, a white v-neck tee, black converse, his hair in their usual messy style, looking completely happy. How could he be so happy in the morning? I wondered as I saw him leaving my room, probably to fix breakfast.  I brushed my teeth before I quickly took a shower and got dressed in my black skinny jeans, white tank top. I grabbed a black hoodie and pulled it on over the top. I put on a pair of black converse and pulled my hair into a messy bun.

I walked out of my room only to see Zach on my phone. I didn’t bother asking him what he was going through because I didn’t have anything to hide from him. He looked at me with a big smile.

‘You have so many followers on Twitter? How?’ he asked and I walked up to him and grabbed my I-phone from his hand. He was right. I had thousands of followers while I had just three hundred the other day. I quickly scrolled through my followers list and screamed at what I saw.

‘Aaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!’ I shrieked. Yeah, I forget sometimes that I am almost 19.

‘What happened?’ Zach asked as he dramatically rubbed his ear.

‘One Direction follows me.’ I said, still not believing it. ‘Well, One Direction minus Zayn Malik follows me.’ I said, slightly disappointed. Anyways, how was it possible that four of the guys followed me at the same time?

‘Oh.’ Zach said.

‘That’s all you’ll say. Oh? You guys are so stupid.’

‘Rash, you’re almost 19, just a day to go. Behave like one.’ Zach said and I realized that it was my birthday tomorrow.

‘Whatever. You should be happy that I am happy.’ I said and he smiled at me, nodding his head.

I realized the meaning behind his smile. He was happy that I was finally back from the numb person. I was happy too, genuinely happy. It had been ten months and even if it still hurt, still made me feel like shit, it didn’t mean that I had to make Zach suffer with me. I should just grieve in isolation. Yeah, it took me seven months to smile again and three more months to laugh. So what? Everyone needs time. Even if I still wasn’t sure whether or not I still loved Lucas…..Oh my god! Here we go, again. Why can’t I be just happy for a few longer minutes? Just thinking about his name, about him, set the hole in my heart on my fire, making it burn and hurt like hell. I could feel the smile slipping from my face and Zach noticed it too.
