ZAYN:

‘Rashel, is that you?’ a voice called out from behind Rashel. I looked up to see its owner just as I saw Rashel freezing. What was that all about? I looked up at the unwanted visitor who was grinning from ear to ear. The way he was looking at Rashel was the way one would look at a long lost friend. But then, Rashel doesn’t do friends. Who was this guy, who by the way had the most intense green eyes I had ever seen and that’s saying something because I have seen Harry’s?

‘God, it’s been so long.’ The guy said and moved to stand in front of Rashel. I glanced at Rashel and my heart poured out to her. She looked…cold, detached, emotionless, dead. What made her like this? A minute ago she was all good, joking with me and teasing me. What happened that broke her heart all over again? I thought about it for a second before it hit.

Well, shit!

God, please tell me that this isn’t happening. This can’t happen now. Not when Rashel had just started to feel better. God cannot be this cruel. He has to have a heart and spare Rashel another heartbreak. Because this time it won’t be just her. I was well aware that Rashel’s broken heart would affect me badly and there was no stopping it. Tell me this isn’t happening.

I once again glanced at Rashel and she still looked dead. God, I can’t see her like this. With one look at her I was sure that god had indeed decided to be merciless. The guy standing in front of her was indeed Luke, Lucas Jordan to be specific. Luke, who had broken her heart. Luke, who had crushed her spirits by saying that she wasn’t enough. Luke, who had left her without looking back even once and now he is standing in front of her acting as if they are best friends. Well, guess what, dickhead? You were her best friend, you were even the guy she fell in love with. But you lost it. You lost her. She isn’t yours anymore. You didn’t just lose her as a girlfriend. You lost her as a friend too, which trust me is the most stupid thing one could ever do. Rashel might be one of the rudest people you come across, she might be the intimidating girl, she might be the smoker, she might be the tough bad girl, but she was amazing to her friends. That’s one of the things I have managed to find out about Rashel, that no matter how bad she was, she was one hell of a friend. Sadly, Zach and I were the only ones who still had access to that soft side of her.

‘Rashel?’ Luke called out once again. Rashel just continued to stare at him. She looked  how she felt. Dead. I have to do something, I thought. I should get her out of here.

‘Let’s go, babe.’ I said as I stood up. Rashel looked away from Luke and her dull grey eyes bore into mine. The pain in them knocked the breath out if me and stopped my heart for a second. How was she bearing that much of sadness?

‘Yeah.’ She finally managed to utter a word and stood up too. I helped her up as I wrapped my arms around her waist to support her. She should’ve gotten those crutches, but no, she was way too stubborn to admit that she would need crutches. Her arms wrapped around mine as she tried to walk.

‘Come on, are you really gonna ignore me?’ Luke said as he walked with us. Who the hell did he think he was? He had the nerve to even come with us! I wanted to punch him in the gut for that. Arsehole.

Rashel didn’t reply. She just continued to walk with me and didn’t even spare him a glance. It must be hard for her, seeing him not even a foot away from her. And to be honest, if Luke doesn’t steps back right this minute, he just might be sporting a bruise in the coming days. Yeah, that ridiculous protective feeling I have for Rashel.

I tried to ignore him, which honestly was really difficult considering that he was right next to me. Maybe punching him wasn’t that bad an idea.
