Let me on a bus
To see a new place
No, sir
I'm influenced by neither smoke nor drink
I'm just sad
Wonder how amazing it would be
Flying like a bird
I've come to find I'm stuck here
Let me see the garden
To lose myself in soft smells
No, sir
I'm not running from anything
I'm just tired
I'm making my bed in roses
Thorns enter my skin
To make me beautiful
Let me dance barefoot
To put on a show for you
No, sir
I'm not faking
I'm just lonely
The music asks me to move
Your eyes ask me to undress
It's time to give in
Let me share my story
To let go of my secrets
No, sir
I'm not leaving
I'm just weighed down
My story is made of who I was
Nowhere near who I am
You've read my words
Let me sleep in your arms
To scare away my nightmares
No, sir
I'm not crying
I'm just cold
Keep me from shaking
Keep me from screaming
Don't tell a soul I'm here
Let me sing my lullaby
To remember how your voice sounds
No, sir
I'm not alive
I'm just breathing
I love the way you touch me
The way you stole my heart
But I have your soul
That counts for something, right?
