Hopelessly in Love

Prologue

Joeys POV

I'm 17 and gay. I wasn't really accepted in my last school so we had to move all the way from Boston to L.A.

I don't plan on telling anyone that I'm gay. Maybe if I make close friends, but I won't be openly gay like I was back home.

We moved here last week but I officially start school tomorrow. I'm excited yet terrified of what might happen. I've only had one crush on a guy in my entire life.

Shane

He was visiting for vacation during the summer. We met and hung out the whole time he was there. We were only 10 so I didn't know I was gay then but I knew I felt different towards him, he was more than a friend to me but I pushed it away. He's never left my mind, he probably doesn't even remember me. The fact that ill never see him again kills me, but I can't think like that. I decided just to go to sleep, it was 10:00 and I had a big day tomorrow.

*The Next Morning*

I read the clock:

7:30

I decided to skip breakfast because I wasn't that hungry and went off to the bus stop. I saw a girl waiting there I decided to say hi

Joey: Hey!

Girl: Hi, are you new here?

Joey: Yeah I moved here from Boston!

Girl: Wow! That's really far, I'm Lisa

Joey: I'm Joey

Lisa: Nice name! Sit across from me on the bus, I'll introduce you to my friends.

Joey: okay thanks!!

We got on the bus and sat in the middle portion of the bus. She introduced me to Meghan, Ingrid, Stacy, Ian, Ricky, and Trevor. They all seemed really nice, I asked everyone to tell me what to expect from the school

Meghan: Well if anything, don't expect to learn during class, the teachers don't even pay attention

Joey: I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing now is it?

I laughed and so did everyone else

Joey: Who are the popular kids at the school

Ingrid: Well the boy Pops are Shane, Sawyer, Luke, Anthony, Connor and JC.

Meghan: The girl Pops are Lisa, Ingrid, Cat, Grace, and Me

Stacy: The boy pops are the ones you should be worried about, the girls are nice but the boys.....not so much

Lisa: Shane's nice!

Shane, just the sound of that name gives me butterflies, I wonder if....

No Joey there's no way that Shane goes to this school. Although...he did say he lived in L.A

Stacy: You only say that because he's your boyfriend

Joey: What? You two are dating?

Lisa: No, I mean we tried dating in grade 9, but we're just best friends. They call him my boyfriend because we act like a couple and to tease me.

Joey: Oh haha!

Stacy: Joey seemed jealous when I said you two were dating

Joey: Did not!

Stacy: Did too!

I had to admit I was insanely jealous, because if this was the Shane I met when I was ten then I wanted him to be mine! Not hers.

And that's when Shane walked on to the bus
