Chapter 5: Ingrid

Shane's POV

I decided to tell Ingrid I was gay, I want all my close friends who wouldn't judge to know

We were all still in the hot tub because it was 8:50 and the pool was freezing

Shane: Hey "grid monster" can we go inside for a sec, I wanna talk

She glared at me for a second because I made sure to use her nickname that she wanted.

Ingrid: very funny Shane but Yeah sure lets go

She pulled my arm and we went inside.

Ingrid: C'mon you can tell me anything

She smiled to reassure me and I continued

Shane: We both didn't feel anything in that kiss

Ingrid: Yeah I know.

Shane: It's not because I don't like you or anything maybe if I was straight-

Shane: I had a thing for Ricky since grade four but after the kiss with me and him that all went away

Ingrid: Are you gonna come out to everyone?

Shane: Luke, Joey and Lisa well and now you know.

Ingrid: Are you nervous people will find out

Shane: Yes! Not because I'm embarrassed of being gay, it's because of our school

Joeys POV

Everyone was talking about Ingrid and Shane

Ricky: Sawyer, $20 says Dawson and her and making out

Sawyer: Make it 50 and you're on

Ugh I hate the idea of Shane kissing let alone making out with anyone besides me

Lisa: They actually don't make a bad couple..

I glared at Lisa and she looked down, JC noticed and spoke

JC: Joeys jealoussssss

He practically sang

Joey: Am not!

Sawyer: Are too, be gay all you want no one really cares unless you're ugly or majorly popular although you're not popular you're not ugly and trust me I know ugly. I've been looking at Ricky all night

Everyone laughed and Ricky playfully punched sawyer

Sawyer: I'm kidding, just don't let people find out k?

Joey: thanks guys

Ricky: Well now that we know you're gay we can also tell you're soooo in love with Dawson

I blushed and everyone now knew it was true but everyone promised not to tell

Joey: He knows...

Luke: He does?!?

Joey: Mhm

Connor: That must've sucked watched him and Ingrid

I just nodded

Lisa patted me on the shoulder, Shane and Ingrid came out all our mouths dropped

Shane's POV

Ingrid: I have a plan..

I was very intrigued mainly because I had no idea where the fuck she was going with this

Shane: Go on...

Ingrid: So it's my understanding that you don't want people to know you're gay or even suspect it

Shane: Yes, you're 100% correct

Ingrid: I want people to think I'm over Luke

Shane: You're not?

Ingrid: No, but how about so people don't think you're gay and people think I'm over Luke how about we fake date?

Her idea is interesting, and it would help us both...

Shane: Deal

I may or may not regret this

We walked out of the house holding hands and everyone looked at us in shock.

We sat in the tub and I put my arm around her, Everyone was waiting for explanation. It was awkwardly quite until Ricky spoke

Ricky: Soy Sauce you owe me 50 bucks!

I was lost

Sawyer: We don't know for sure tho..

Lisa: Then ask them!

Everyone looked at us and Ricky spoke

Joeys POV

I was hoping sawyer was right and Ricky wasn't, it would be terrible if I knew they were making out

Ricky: We're you to making out in there?

They looked at each other and Ingrid nodded

Shane: Yes.

I was crushed

Shane's POV

Ricky: We're you two making out in there

I looked at Ingrid mentally asking if we should lie and say we were and she nodded

Shane: Yes.

I could tell Joey was upset but I couldn't risk anyone finding out about me
