Chapter 6(Bewildernment)

"Maybe next time, I have lots of things to rush."Nice to see you again Nami."

I smile and go towards Bella's direction.

--at the church

-Aneko—

"Don't try to reach the high note. It would just ruin the song."Aya irritately tells me. We are currently practicing our praise and worship song for the next Sunday.

"Yeah right." I concede. I'm not really a good singer, I'm just at the middle I guess. But since it's my passion to sing everytime, I decided to join the Praise and Worship team in our church, now for His glory.

"Hello everyone!"

A familiar voice is heard inside.

We all look at the doorway.

My jaw drops. It's Nicks!

I can't move for a moment.

"Nicks!"

They all hug him. The boys do their fist to fist gesture.

Lastweek it's Nami, now it's Nick.

Yeah.Nick. The greatest boy friend I ever had. I'm referring to a boy that is my friend.

Well, we had this mutual feeling before. He was my classmate/friend in highschool. We used to have that almost perfect friendship. We're kinda cat and dog. We used to tease each other. We were naughty and kinda bad before.And I was in my secondyear when he started courting me. That was also the time I started seeking God and started to find a church.

I started to be good that time. There was this eagerness to change for the better, and to be a righteous woman. Because of that, he also started to attend the church I was attending. He was also transformed, from a bad naughty boy to a responsible guitarist of the praise and worship team. That's when I started to love him.

We became closer. He never failed to show and express how I am valued, though he was still courting me that time. After 9 months of courting, I was ready to be his girlfriend when the church announced that we should'nt have boyfriend/girlfriend to avoid temptations. But it's still depends on us.

It was a crucial decision. Lots of the members of the music team turned back and find a new church. Good thing Nami, Mei, and the devoted Christians stay. We're not turning back either.

I easily got over with that. I just prayed that he would be willing to wait. I presumed Nick prayed that too. But I was wrong.

We were just surprised when he told us that he's leaving. We were about to finish our thirdyear. He said he's going to study in Paris for good, because it's where his uncle was. He left.

I guess it was my first heartbreak. He just left me hanging. Why can't he wait? Maybe he's just not deserving for my love. Nami and Aya witnessed that vulnerable part of me.

And by that time Cris has transferred to our school ,and it turned out that I had put my attention on him. He started acting like him, though he's not really a devoted Christian. My admiration starts to him, but I've just kept it. Until now.

I already forgot Nick.

"REALLY?"My mind speaks.

"Aneko!"Aya taps my shoulder."

Now I'm back to present.

"Nice to see you again Aneko."He hugs me.

I reluctantly hug him back.

-Boardroom-

It's an upcoming foundation day. Mei and I are part of the photo team. I'm excited again to take some photos. It's been a long time. I miss it when I was in Japan.

"JAPAN?"I don't want to either remember that place. It's tormenting me.

Allright. The precider starts. I saw Mei arrives and she waves at me.

She comes closer.

"You look like absent-minded."

"Am I?"

"Know what..?"I'm excited.

"Me either. It's our last photography project together."

"Yeah."

"Where is Aneko?"The precider asks.

"I'm here"

"Since you've dropped out and never been here for months, you will be the assistant photographer for the highlights and guest. Since you did a great job last year."

"How's my dropped out factor affects my photography?"
I furiously ask. Here we go again. I'm a bit distracted this time. I have lots of thoughts in my mind.

"It does affect. Your records reflect who you are. Since you left the country for an unknown reason."

Yeah. That's true.I managed to keep it as a secret. I just told it to Mei.

"I think it's not fair."Mei interrupts.

"Why not?"

"So who will replace her?" Mei asks with a "I don't like what's happening" tone. I know what she's feeling now. She's kinda feeling pity to me. Maybe she would fight for me too if I start arguing.
