At the church-
The service has just done. I and Mei haven't talked yet. They are making some announcement. I'm sitting at the back alone.
"Thinking again.."It's Aya.
"not really."
"You havent talked yet?"
"No.."
"Know what? I wonder how the both of you can still attend the church with that grudge with in you."
"O.A! It's not grudge!"
"What ever that is, misunderstanding, etc. it's still the same. It will still ruin your friendship."
"I think its not me whom you should talk to."
"Mei!"she calls her.
I look at her with a warning look.
"Yes?"Mei reluctantly smiles.
Aya looks at me with a teasing smile, then she turns to Mei.
"You want some cake? Here."
She gives her cake to her.
"It's from your O-ne."
LIAR.
I turn my face to other direction.
"Just kidding. I don't like it. I haven't eaten it yet."
She stands up and she blinks at me ,and leave.
TEASER.
I am about to get my phone inside the box when Nicks walks toward my direction and sit beside me.
"How's life treating you?"
"Well in good.."
He fixes my hair that is covering my eyes and insert it at the back of my ear. Its his sweetest gesture to me before.
YEAH.BEFORE.
"Sorry for leaving you."
I am caught off guard. Why does he need to open that thing again?"
"Common Nicks..That was 5 years ago"I irritatley answer.
AFFECTED?
"I had to do it. my uncle met an accident and was suffering from coma that time.
I have to take over his place since I'm just his nephew."
So that's it. He left because of that. I thought he left because he was hurt.
I assumed.
"I'm still not over you."
'Ha?"
We are that church and he's confessing those kind of things to me.
"I come back here to continue my study as a pastor. I come back here for you."
I am stunned.
WHAT WILL I SAY?
"Do I still have the chance?"
I don't want to talk about that thing anymore. And I'm not being used interrogated this way. He surprised me by coming back, and now he's telling those stuffs?What for? I'm over it. I have moved on.
"Its been years Nicks.I was broken that time, well it was my first heartache.
You just left me hanging, and now you're coming back as if nothing happened?"
"I still love you. That's why I come back for good."So he''ll staying here.
LOVE? Then I thought of Cris.
"It was just a puppy love."I coldly aswer.
I see her face faints.
"Am I too late?"
"Stop this drama Nicks."
"Is there anyone new?"
"We have to graduate first right.?Don't you understand that?"Here he is again annoying me.
DEJAVU.
The arguments we have had before he left, it's happening again.
"That's why I'm willing to wait you now."
"You'll just wait for nothing."
"Aneko, is there someone new?"
I nod. I am now feeling uncomfortable with the atmosphere. He has to stop. So I nod.
I see him bows his head, as if he is about to cry. It hurts me seeing him that way.
There's an urge in me of wanting him to draw closer to me.
But I refuse myself. I stand up and go out.
"I'M SORRY LORD."
