I'm terrified.
My heart is beating fast
Like a horse running a race.
Thump, Thump

The light is shining through the window perfectly
It reflects off the glass and falls onto a girl.
A girl with golden hair,
Snow White skin,
And pastel colors lacing around her body.
Her head ducked into a book
Ignoring the harsh reality.
Her eyes scan across the page,
Not glancing up to look
At the mess of a human in front of her.
Me.

She looks like she would smell of
Vanilla and lavender,
Maybe like the smell of fresh cut grass,
Or a dainty flower.

I smell like
Morning breath and bad days,
I smell like sweat and dirt,
Like salty water and deodorant.

She probably feels soft,
Like velvet,
Like rose petals.

I feel rough on the edges.
Piercing your fingertips
As you graze over.

She looks like her smile
Would bright up the room.
A town.
A country.
A world.
A galaxy.
To the end of the universe and back.
But there is no end of the universe.

She seems to have a coffee
Dark and steaming.
She doesn't seem like the kind of girl
To want a dull cup of coffee.
She needs something fresh,
Light, free,
Enlightening to your heart,
Tasting better than good,
Something that brightens your day,
Just like her.

She needs a strawberry smoothie
