I saw the way she looked at herself
In the dirty bathroom mirror.
How she scrunched her nose,
Gave a sad smile,
Lip quivering,
Hanging her head in shame.
I see the way she walks.
She walks like she's a speck of dust,
Or a parasite.
She hides her face all the time,
Not making eye-contact with a single person. It makes my heart clench.
It makes me feel sick.
Why is she so disgusted with herself? She's got perfect skin.
She's got long blonde hair,
Golden like the sun.
And she's got cute, little freckles
Walking across her face.
Her eyes are a deep brown,
Reminding me of melted chocolate.
I wish she could trade her heart and eyes for mine,
So she could see how she really makes me feel.
She would notice how I catch quick glances at her when no one is looking,
She would notice how she makes me break out into smile every time my gaze is upon her,
And she would notice how she cause my heart to flutter,
Like in the cheesy parts of movies.I couldn't let her behavior continue.
I had to tell her she was worth so much more
Than what she thought she was worth.
She was not a piece of trash,
Or rubble meant to be stepped upon.As the bell rang,
Ending English,
I slipped a tiny piece of paper onto her desk.
I run across the room to stand by the door,
Faster than the speed of light,
Just to turn around and see her reaction
Without her noticing it's me.
I see her look at her desk
Noticing the crumpled note sitting there.
She opens the note,
Gazing cautiously,
Looking uncertain.
But then a smile tugs at her lips."To you, maybe, you seem too ugly to bear,
But to me, you're beautiful beyond compare."
