Aphmau's POV:
I dragged the boys behind me as I darted down the corridors, since they had no idea where the West Wing was. I don't know how considering it is LITERALLY in the West Wing of the school, but those are the guys for you. We had all started running a second after Shelby finished talking.
"YOU SURE YOU KNOW WHERE WE'RE GOING?" Jin shouted at me while we dodged a few falling ceiling pieces.
"YOU TRUST ME DON'T YOU!?" I yelled back at him over my shoulder.
"WOAH!" I heard Adam stumble, nearly tripping and falling over. He probably almost got his foot caught in one of the holes in the floor I'd seen when I fist came here with Emmalyn. "D'YA REALLY WANT US TO ANSWER THAT?!" I rolled my eyes even though he couldn't see from under my mask and turned the corner, skidding to a stop once I saw the others. John was the first to notice us, he was wearing a purple dinosaur hoodie and baggy purple trousers. He had his eyepatch covering his left eye, as usual, and had Goat by his side. Oh, I almost forgot! I should probably explain the thing with the eyepatch. No, it's not just a fashion choice, but something that isn't a choice at all, rather. John lost his eye on his first ever mission. Before we even started working for the DIVINE. All 8 of us started being agents by working for another high-class, but not as elite, agency called 'The Few'. Mainly, because so few people were let into it. But that's a story for another time.
"You might wanna yell a little louder, I don't think Disaster can here you yet." He smirked turning to face us, arms crossed.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just show us what you found already!" I put a hand on my hip. Just then, Alesa stepped into view.
"Over here." She nodded her head towards the wall just a few feet behind her. I followed her as she walked up to it. "What d'ya see?" I looked up. The only thing on the wall was a golden plaque. Engraved on it were the words;
Phoenix Drop High
Established since-
That was it. The date was scratched off and I couldn't make it out. Guess I can add 'Vandalism' to the list of things wrong with this place.
"Umm. One of those signs you find in every school?" I glanced at her, unsure. Obviously, I was missing something. Alesa shook her head and chuckled.
"How 'bout now?" She reached for the sides of it and jiggled the plaque. It came lose and she let it drop to the floor. But still, all I could see was the plain wall, until... I ran my hand over its surface and felt a dent in it.
"What's this?" I stepped back, observing the wall for any other strange details I could notice. Shelby came up, this time, but neither her nor Alesa answered my question. She took her crown in her hand and whipped out the blades, then slowly cut a line through the paint on the wall, directly over the dent. Still keeping quiet, she ripped the lair of paint and wallpaper to reveal a small slit in the wall. A perfect line, cut into the cement.
"In there?" Max pointed to it, looking at the two girls suspiciously. "You mean to tell me, that in that tiny hole, is what the Shadow Knights so desperately need?"
"Yup," Shelby nodded, settling her crown back on her head with the blades retracted. "See for yourself." Max backed away, clearly reluctant as he didn't know what was in there.
"I'll do it." Ross sighed and came out from behind Adam. He, without even hesitating, reached into the slit. "What the- AAAAAHHH AAAHHHH!!! IT'S GOT ME, HELP!!" He grabbed his arm and started screaming.
