Agent Phoenix: On the Case (An Aphmau Fanfiction)

Confrontations: Part 1

Aphmau's POV:

"Apple?" After all these years, even though he could actually pronounce my name now, he stilled called me that. I won't lie though, as stupid as it was, it brought a smile to my face. Especially since this was the first time I'd seen him in a year. He worked for two Organizations, so he was always going back and forth between them. Not to mention actual missions. He worked for the DIVINE and another Agency which was a bit more secretive and elite than The few called the Warriors. No, it wasn't an acronym. It was named that because their Agents were literal modern day warriors.

"Kyle?" I got off him and helped him up, then hugged the life out of him.

"Aph, it's been so long. I never would've guessed that the next time I saw you, you'd tried to kill me." He laughed.

"Sorry about that." I stepped back to get a good look at him. He had the longer strands of his hair on the side of his head tied with a black rubber band. Kyle was wearing Beige cargo pants, a white shirt and a black jacket. It may have been a while since I had last seen him but he hadn't change. He still was the only Agent who wandered around the Agency in casual clothes. Then I remembered what had happened before, when the lights were out. "But, I wanna know, why'd you attack me? And why was this place so dark?"

"Oh, that." Kyle smiled sheepishly. "Well, I went to get Breakfast but then the power cut out. Except the emergency power didn't turn on, which could've only meant that it was turned off manually. I came in here to check what happened, thinking that the Shadow Knights snuck past security and were planning an ambush while the lights were out-"

"And when you found me you didn't wanna take any chances?" I finished for him.

"Yep."

"Wait a minute." I stopped. "If you came in to check who turned off the power and I didn't do it then, who did?"

"Yeah...That was our bad." I turned to see Max and Shelby.

"Max and I were arguing, then he pushed me, and I pushed him and well.." Shelby trailed off.

"She slammed me into switch that cut the power." Max blamed her.

"WELL MAYBE IF YOU HADN'T PUSHED ME INTO THE TELEPORTER IN THE FIRST PLACE!" Shelby retorted.

"OH WE'RE GOING BACK TO THAT NOW, ARE WE?!" Max screamed and they started yelling at each other like a couple of children.

"DINGUS!!"

"BUTT-FACE!!"

"GEEZ JUST SHUT UP AND KISS ALREADY!" A third voice interrupted. They had been so caught up in their argument that they didn't notice the flash of light when the others had teleported here too. I faced them to see Adam was the one who spoke. A second later, Shelby's blade crown went flying towards his head. "AH!" He screamed, like a girl might I add, and ducked. The crown's stainless steel blade just missing his hair.

"You were saying." Shelby glared at him as her crown boomeranged back onto her head, landing a second after the blades retracted.

"Kyle, my man! How you been?" Jin, being the first to notice him, went over to greet him. I noticed he was carrying the briefcase from the science fair with him.

"You brought that with you?" I motioned to it.

"Well, we still need to open this up, don't we? So I thought what better time to do it than when we go to the Commanders."

"You're going to see the Commanders?" Kyle asked. We nodded. "Why didn't you say so? They're in their new office. C'mon! I'll show where it is." He opened the door to the power room and lead us down the hall.
