Aphmau's POV:
I could feel everyone staring at me, what else could you expect after waltzing into a masquerade dance looking how I did. As I walked past I could see their reactions; Katelyn nodding in approval, Jin smirking, Shelby grinning and Ivy fuming. I met up with them at the side of the stage.
"Ready?" I asked. They all nodded. "Wait," I walked over to Jin who was at the second Microphone. "You're singing?"
I cut him off before he could answer.
"Let me rephrase that," I made sure my guitar was plugged in. "You can sing?" His grinned dropped and I laughed as he scowled at me.
"You-"
"Kidding, kidding!" I shook my head, lowering my mic.
"Yes, I can. But I was doing the sound check." Jin rolled his eyes. "By the way, knowing how much you move around, you might want this." He threw a headset microphone at me and I caught it with my free hand. After finally getting it in, I turned to the crowd.
"Alright everybody, who's ready for some music!" Some cheered, some ignored me and other kept staring at my outfit like a gaping fish. You'd think they'd never seen a girl looking like a circus clown walk into a masquerade ball before.
"Phe!" Cadenza whispered from the side of the stage. "You need a band name!" I stiffened.
"Bad name? Right... Our bad and name.. Well, we're.." I struggled to think of something. Without warning, the microphone was ripped from my hand.
"THE PHOENIX ALLIANCE!" Jin screamed into it.
"What!?" I harshly whispered to him, covering the mic. "I never agreed to that."
"Too late now." He shrugged before running back to his place behind the keyboard. I would've continued, but just then Max started hitting his drumsticks together, counting us in.
"What song?" Adam murmured.
"Remember Superchick?" I asked him. Right before Max started drumming, he nodded and we began.

"She never slows down.
She doesn't know why but she knows that when she's all alone, feels like it's all coming down." I strummed softly.
"She won't turn around. That shadows are long and she fears if she cries that first tear, the tears will not stop raining down-" I untied the back of my mask and pulled it off.
"So stand in the rain! Stand your ground."
"Stand up when it's all crashing down. You stand through the pain, you won't drown. And one day what's lost can be found-"
"You stand in the rain." I ran my hands through my hair, letting it fall loose. The music continued and, after seeing Ivy scowling at me from a where she was sat near the stage, I decided to have some fun.
"She won't make a sound, Alone in this fight with herself and her fears whispering if she stands, she'll fall down." I strolled over to the side of the stage, not breaking Ivy's eye contact.
