"Take my hand and I'll show you the sights." He whispered into her ear invitingly while she returned his gaze star struck, drowning into his dark eyes.
She gripped his hand whilst the moon illuminated the town leaving it an eery white. Petra climbed off the horse before slipping up the hood of her scouting cloak; blanketing her in green as she entwined fingers with her boyfriend.
"Where are you going to take me?" She whispered edging closer to Levi as they leisurely strolled along the town.
They drew to a close, halting suddenly. Petra looked at Levi curiously before he drew her into a long kiss on the lips. Surprised, Petra kissed him back meting into his sweet tenderness.
"Wait here" he let go of her hand before sprinting off down an alley; leaving Petra alone and wondering what he was doing.
Petra's hand felt cold and bare without his touch. Holding it out, she realized how much she needed him. One second was a difficult task. Her existence solely depended on Levi's whereabouts. It was crazy what love did to a person. She smiled as the breeze circled gently around her. The crickets chirped noisily as Petra looked up to the moon. A half circle illuminated in white; showcasing the twinkling stars in a blanket of midnight darkness. The sky was beautiful. Everything remained quiet and peaceful, the only sound to be heard was the distant noises of the wildlife among her.
Levi had been gone for a few minutes and she had begun to grow more worried and apprehensive. Where was he? A shadow crept in front of her, leaving a thick carpet of blackness. Petra's heart raced as she could feel her pulsing heart beat through her chest. She held onto her knuckles nervously fidgeting with her hands, surveying the deserted town for a sign of her boyfriend. Sitting down on a bench, the chilling cold reached her butt as she awkwardly sat. Her feet could only just reach the floor as she dangled them above the ground, scuffing her old boots on the cobbles.
Five minutes turned into ten as her worry grew into dread and fear and vulnerability.
"Levi" she yelled out her voice sounded muffled as it cracked into a half sob.
She had to remain calm and rational. She scolded herself. She was a soldier. A brave woman who fought Titans.
But levi.....
She could not leave without him. Kicking the cobbles, she gripped onto the bench tightly; her knuckles turning white. She would give him five more minutes. He would be here. She was sure of it. Nibbling on her lip anxiously, she waited for him patiently.
A dark figure reappeared from a alleyway; holding something tightly as it sprinted. The dark green coat billowing out behind him. The figure lifted up its hood to display the dark raven hair. He sprinted faster breaking into an ear splitting grin as he saw Petra waiting. His hair was blowing rebelliously into his eyes; his cloak growing heavier and trying to pull him behind. None of it mattered. As long as he got to her. He raced along the court yard. The footsteps becoming a blur. Picking up the pace and testing his boots durability as they clashed against the cobbles, Levi saw Petra. Biting her lip while swinging her legs back and forth.
Levi brought out the boquet of flowers from his cloak. A vibrant yet sophisticated bunch with delicate buds. The carnations he had bought from the local florist stood out standing tall.
Petra noticed Levi running from the distance and breathed in a sigh of relief. He was okay. He hadn't abandoned her contrary to her original thoughts.
Levi caught up to Petra breathing heavily and holding the flowers tightly in his grasp.
"I'm back baby" he rasped as his chest moved up and down.
