Petra sat in her room stewing over what had just happened. Her lips still felt warm to the touch from her captains recent endeavours. She felt a mixture of embarrassment and curiosity as to what would happen next. Leaning forward, she rested her head in her hands and sighed.

"What's gotcha looking like that!" Came an enthusiastic voice barrelling through the door. A voice she recognised to be Hanji; quirky scientist, who she guessed to be Levi's second in command and her roommate.

Petra raised her head. "Oh nothing much." She replied with as much enthusiasm as she could muster.

Hanji shook her head and sat down next to her on the bed. "Gotta be something. Might as well spill now I'll find out. Oh wait no! Let me guess! ODM issues? You were a bit rusty today."

"I-" Petra faced her with indignation. "I was fine with ODM today. It's not that." She muttered moodily.

"Well shit Petra I haven't got all day!" She groaned slumping back onto the bed frame. "All I know was you left training just disappeared. Poof!" She motioned with her hands.

Petra smiled faintly at her eccentric friend. "I just took a walk in the woods." She replied quickly with her cheeks flushed.

Hanji surveyed her looking up and down. "Hmm. I don't buy it. Why when we were training in the woods would you disappear to another part of the woods?"

Petra's cheek stung with fear of being caught in her beginning formation of the web of lies she would ultimately have to create. Was Levi worth it she reasoned. Yes. Yes he was. She paused.

"Maybe I wanted a change of scenery." She retorted. "Ever considered that."

Petra shuffled to the back of her bed and tucked her knees into her chest. Hanjis face softened, clearly sensing she had hit some kind of nerve. She stood up gingerly and sat down next to Petra on the edge of the bed.

"Are you in trouble?" She questioned seriously. Her face registered concern and Petra felt briefly guilty for her deceit. This was her closest friend in the survey corps and she wanted to tell her. But she couldn't. It wasn't fair to Levi.

Petra shook her head. "No I'm not don't worry." She untucked her knee and rubbed hanjis arm down to her elbow in a motion she hoped was reassuring. Hanji smiled acknowledging the gesture.

"Well I'm glad to hear that at least." She replied. Hanji met her eyes. "Seriously though if you do need to talk to me. Tell me anything. My lips are sealed." She did a zipping motion and threw her arms to throw away the key.

Petra laughed feeling better. Hanji had that contagious affect around people. "Honestly I'm okay. But if there's anyone I need to beat up, you'll be the first to know I promise." She winked teasingly.

Hanji laughed and stood up, walking towards the window. The room was overcast by faint shadows as the sunset reached its apex with hues of oranges and reds streaming through.

"I better be." She mumbled. Petra stood up to join her and draped her elbows against the window sill. Dark oak much like the rest of her room.

She sighed. "It's not that I don't want to tell you." She started. Hanji turned her head and Petra could see cogs whirring around in her brain, waiting for a lightbulb to hit. If it did she was fucked.

Thankfully Hanji sensed to let it go and with her ever changing mind, steered away from the topic completely. "Check out that cow!" She exclaimed, pointing.

Petra squinted. "What about it."

The room had a view of the field spanning out for acres and was littered with cows and another farm animals. As the sun was drawing in, the cows had congregated to the bottom of the field in the right most corner.
